Jo Malone Geranium and Walnut Hand Cream Review

When I think of luxurious bath and body brands, one company, and one company only springs to mind - Jo Malone. Yes certain products can veer expensive but on the whole you can't level their wonderful fragrances nor sheer quality of formulations across the board. With Winter slowly but surely creeping in and the weather turning from mild and crisp, to dull, wet and cold, you may want to invest in a hand cream or two; rather fortunately enough, Jo Malone have just launched - Jo Malone Geranium and Walnut Hand Cream, and it's not nearly as expensive as you'd imagine.

Now I know what you are thinking - "why a Geranium and Walnut fragrance, and not a best seller such as Lime, Basil and Mandarin?". It's simple and actually quite ingenious really, the concept behind both the Jo Malone Geranium and Walnut scented products (you can read my Jo Malone Geranium and Walnut Body Scrub review here) is that they have been created to blend harmoniously with every, single, Jo Malone fragrance - be it a long standing favourite, a blast from the past or a new, yet to be discovered launch. The gentle floral yet slightly nutty aroma of the Jo Malone Geranium and Walnut adds a subtle hint of fragrance to the skin when used alone (perfect for the hands as it is so light, meaning it doesn't overwhelm and of course leaves you to be able to eat with your hands almost immediately) or when used in conjunction with other Jo Malone products and scents, it somewhat mellows, warms, and tones down the overall scent, so it whispers rather than shouts.

As lovely as all Jo Malone fragrances are - I've yet to encounter one that I dislike - this is not what impresses me most about Jo Malone Geranium and Walnut Hand Cream, rather I am blown away by the light yet ultra nourishing formulation that offers the perfect "hand friendly" texture - soft, creamy and most importantly non-greasy. Jo Malone Geranium and Walnut Hand Cream's main ingredient (along with other skin moisturisers) is apricot oil - this very ingredient allows for deep, intensive hydration but without the need for a heavy, slow to absorb formulation.

Jo Malone may be known for the dreamy and ultimately covetable colognes but I think Jo Malone Geranium and Walnut Hand Cream could be the real unsung and perhaps timeless hero of the brand.
