Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit

Let me begin by saying I am a fickle person as I am sure many others are too, what I love one month may not be what I reach for the next month, and so on. I have however been digging the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit for a few months now which features two matte powders: one to highlight and one to contour, not to mention it comes in two shades. I don't want to say it is my favourite budget contour find ever as I don't know what is around the corner but thus far, it is pretty unbeatable!

I think it is only fair to point out that the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit does share a few similarities in regards to the NARS Contour Blush Kits - both feature matte, slightly dusky toned bronzers, both contain a matte highlight and of course both kits come in a similar style of packaging. Outright dupes? Not really, the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit is a great budget alternative that more than stands on its own two feet. The solid plastic design of Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit allows it to travel well, free from chipping or smashing; it is a little on the large and bulky side but nothing that hinders it from being an everyday handbag essential - if anything the large mirror cements its place within my daily make-up bag.

As mentioned above the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit does come in two shades: Fair and Medium, when I purchased my kit I didn't really look at the stand and assumed they were all one shade - Medium. I will however go back and purchase the Fair kit to provide a swatch gallery and comparisons. So yes Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit in Medium - the bronzer/sculpting powder is cool in tone and yet it has a slight ruddiness to it. Typically I do lean on grey toned products to contour but once applied this looks entirely natural, as it is a features a hint of pink you can use it as a blush or of course any eyeshadow if you wish. Basically a lot like the NARS Contour Blush Kits, this is a powder in which you can inject a little colour onto the cheeks and then use it to sculpt too - the end result is subtle and perfect for day wear. For highlighting and perhaps setting under eye make-up the Seventeen kit also features a matte, slightly stark brightening powder - I have to be entirely honest I prefer a shimmer based product for my illuminating needs but it does work well around the eye area. The contour powder is the real star of the show here.

I may not like the shade of the brightening-come-highlighting powder within the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit, but there is no denying that just like the contour powder it is beautifully formulated. Both have soft yet firm textures that are easily picked up by even the fluffiest of brushes and produce next to no product fall out, they glide onto the skin with ease and blend out wonderfully. Personally I like to use a tapered brush for general contour application as I am a little heavy handed but as this is so finely milled, even if you do apply more powder than you wish, it is so very easy to diffuse with a clean brush and a little blending. I truly can not recommend the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit enough, even if just for the bronzing powder.
