Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer Review

It has been a while since any concealer, let alone a budget offering has blown me away but it was love at first application with Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer. I have held off posting this review as with so many base products, the first few applications can be heavenly and then suddenly my skin decides it no longer agrees with the product. Maddening. Luckily this has not been the case with
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer, I am free to shout my praise from the rooftops...or y'know via blogger.

I hate to admit to it but I was sold on Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer due to the packaging alone, the fact that the texture and coverage is wonderful is really just a bonus. Shallow? Me, never. I do think collectively we have to admit, that typically budget beauty products aren't all that well presented, I guess something has to give to be price efficient. Well Bourjois have managed the impossible - a sleek, well thought out, square bottle that reminds me a lot of Dior Skin Star Concealer complete with a soft and easy to use doe foot applicator. If the glossy exterior is not impressive enough, I can also vouch that the bottle cleverly dispenses just enough product each and every use - it doesn't leak and the dinky plastic tube can take a knock or ten. What more could you ask for?

At the moment the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer comes in three shades, admittedly that is not nearly enough options to cater to all skin tones but I do think that as the colour options are fairly adaptive, most should find a suitable match. I do wish there was at least two more shades: one for super fair complexions and one for darker skin. I oddly have shade 01 Ivory (I normally wear 02 or 03 in concealer), a light creamy yellow toned shade that is perfect for brightening up the under eye area which is really what this concealer does best. I would liken this in terms of colour/tone to NARS Creamy Concealer in Vanilla or maybe MAC NC15.

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer has been specifically formulated for the delicate eye area; the creamy, water-weight texture blends out with next to no effort to ensure that there is no tugging or pulling of the skin. If that is not enough, the formula has been enriched with both water from the glaciers of Mont Blanc and Hyaluronic Acid for continuous hydration. I believe the idea is up to 24 hours of additional moisture but as I don't sleep in my make-up I can't possibly vouch if that is true or not. I do feel that the extra does of hydration helps prevent the formula from oxidising throughout wear, on the flip side this is a concealer you do need to set with a little powder to prevent it from slipping and creasing - more so if you have oily skin.

The more I think about it, the more I would liken Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer to NARS Creamy Concealer - perhaps not an outright dupe but very similar. The main difference is that Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer brightens and illuminates the skin, making light work of disguising dark circles, uneven pigmentation and providing a fresh, lit from within glow. They both cover well and share a similar, almost-gel cream like texture but Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer generally gives a fresher, more youthful finish, does not settle into fine lines and wears (when set) for up to 10 hours.

In other words, this is the budget friendly concealer you have been waiting for.
