Boots Simply Sensitive Day Moisturiser SPF15

Let's face it skincare can be pretty darn expensive, not that I begrudge splashing out on essentials but every now and then a gal can't help but feel smug when she finds a great, staple item of skincare that doesn't cost the earth. Recently I have stumbled across a great everyday moisturiser in the form of
Boots Simply Sensitive Day Moisturiser. It suits most skin types and happens to contain SPF, I should also mention that it costs a mere £3 for 125ml. Oh I have your attention now don't I?

Now being a £3 product this is not quite as sophisticated in ingredients as other day time moisturisers - I'm guessing most will have already assumed that would be the case anyway? By that I simply mean there is no anti-ageing technology or any other fancier add on's. Boots Simply Sensitive Day Moisturiser does however contain an of SPF 15 (both UVA and UVB protection) along with Vitamin E (to soften the skin) and Aloe Vera (to soothe, cool and protect), not to mention it is fragrance and colour free, hypo-allergenic and tested by dermatologists. A dream for anyone who is prone to sensitised skin for whatever reason.

The main selling point for me, is that not only super gentle on the skin but it has been formulated so that it doesn't block pores. As someone with acne prone skin I have struggled hugely with both facial SPF's and believe it or not moisturisers too! I can vouch that not only does Boots Simply Sensitive Day Moisturiser gently nourish and moisturise the skin but it has yet to cause my skin to breakout. It is for this very reason that both my younger sisters use Boots Simply Sensitive Day Moisturiser daily; one has dry skin, the other has an acne prone complexion like myself and neither has experienced any type of problem with this moisturiser. Technically speaking I would say that the thicker texture of this moisturiser is better suited for those with normal to dry skin types, having said that as an oily skinned gal it has yet to prose any problems. It is quickly absorbed, non-greasy and does not feel heavy at all on the skin. I would recommend allowing it to fully settle into the skin (around five minutes at the most) before applying any form of make-up on top.

As many will know I am a huge advocate of not only facial SPF but SPF protection in general, while I would say that the factor 15 Boots Simply Sensitive Day Moisturiser possesses is better than no protection at all, I would still combine with a daily SPF of 30 or more (yes even in Britain). For those curious I do apply my SPF after my moisturiser - I'm not convinced there is a right or wrong way to apply facial SPF, rather it is case of what works best for you. While we are on the topic of sun protection, Boots Simply Sensitive Day Moisturiser can double up as deeply moisturising body SPF option - great for those with dry skin.
