Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayons

Barry M are knocking the new launches out of the park at the moment, if you are a fan of convenience and a matte lip then the newest addition - Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayons, may be just what you have been waiting for. At just £3.49 a shade and with five colour options they are a great addition to any make-up bag.

As you can see the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayons are plastic, twist up style chunky lip pencils that you can use to line and fill the lips in one swift movement. The colour coordinated tubes really does make selection easy as does the fact that you do not have to sharpen them before use. The only downside is that they are not all that secure, a good few of my Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayons bullets have broken and fallen completely out of the packaging. Although lightweight and convenient and terms of use, they are not the most sturdy of lip products so I don't think I can fully recommend them as travel companions.

As you can see above there are five shades to choose from, all of which I would say are pretty varied and offer up a few staples - red, nude and coral, along with two variations of pink. The five shades are: On the Frow - a bright, almost coral peach that is neutral with a strong yellow undertone. Next up is Pack a Punch - again a bright, almost neon pink that again borders on being coral, with a yellow undertone. This reminds me a little of MAC Flamingo lipstick, only marginally cheaper. No lip collection would be complete without a nude option and Barry M offer up Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayon in Dress Rehearsal - a cool toned, pink tinged nude that is really flattering. For those looking for a bold lip colour there is Model Behaviour which is a bright, blue based shocking pink, that is not worlds apart from MAC Girl About Town. Lastly we have Make a Statement, a blue based mid tone red that packs a punch and is both bright and flattering, it may not suit all but then again what red lipstick does?

Matte lipstick can be notoriously to get right - more often than not they are drying, prone to highlighting any faults with the lips and down right uncomfortable to wear. I can happily say that this is not the case with the new Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayons, admittedly they are not the most matte of textures - rather than being flat out mate they have a little life and are more akin with a typical satin lipstick formula. The texture of Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayons is somewhat creamy, non-drying and glides on to the lips with ease - they are buildable but very pigmented in terms of colour from the get go. The Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayons don't bleed, feather nor do they cling to any dry pacthes of the lips - rather they wear true for a solid four hours per application. The only downside is that they can feel a little waxy and to some degree sticky on the lips but other than that and the packaging woe I can't fault them. The Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayons are a great and very affordable matte lipstick option.
