Weekly Favourites #77

It has been a few weeks since I last shared the products that I have had in almost daily rotation but I am back, and back with a bang! Most of the last week was spent in London, a city I love but my skin hates. When in London I need my skin to be protected, my make-up long wearing and my body sweetly scented - I'm not asking for much am I?

The hard London water and the heavy levels of pollution really takes it toll on my skin - my typically oily skin can become a little dried out, for the past few nights I have been slathering on Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. A quick to act, deeply moisturising and nourishing mask that leaves me skin looking and feeling plumper from the first use. It doesn't irritate nor block my pores and smells fantastic. If you are looking for a quick fix to remedy dry/dehydrated skin this is one to purchase. You can find it for £12 via Selfridges - link.

A gentle eye cream come serum that I recommend to all La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Contour Yeux, a light yet hydrating eye lotion that soothes, calms and hydrates. If you are new to eye creams this is the ideal starting ground as it is so gentle and suitable for all ages. I like to use this a serum and apply a heavier eye cream on top for double the benefits. I also find La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Contour Yeux ideal for comforting itchy eyes thanks to allergies.

If you purchase one base product for the Summer months let it be Vichy Ideal Soleil Tinted BB Cream. Not only does this contain an SPF 50 that protects against both UVA and UVB rays but it is tinted to compliment tanned (real or faux) complexions, as well as being deeply hydrating. It leaves my skin glowing, feeling fresh and is ideal for those days when you don't want a heavy base but would like to even out your skin tone. You can find it via Escentual for £13.15 - link.

To stop make-up gliding off my face my recent go to combination is Bare Minerals Mineral Veil which is essentially a brush on SPF of 25, that both protects the skin as well as setting make-up. It can be a little prone to caking if you apply it several times throughout the day. To mop up any excess oil a quick dab of Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot is my go to guy - it doesn't offer any coverage but it does remove any traces of shine without caking or appearing heavy on the skin.

I've been going through a lip liner phase, I find they wear so much longer than any lipstick formula I own and allow for added definition. At the moment I've been getting so much wear from MAC Whirl Lip Liner - a rosy tinged brown that gives the appearance of fuller lips without being overly drying. I utterly adore this shade and do try to push it on to just about everyone and their Mother! As a heads up all of the MAC Kylie Jenner rumoured shades are all back in stock via MAC : Whirl, Spice, Soar et al - link.

Lastly I've been wearing Chole Eau de Parfum, a light yet punchy floral. It has taken me years to discover this scent and man am I smitten. It wears beautifully all day, never drying to powdery and doesn't overwhelm - I'm trying to be kind to fellow commuters ha!
