Not only is Spring here but also a whole onslaught of new releases from some of our favourite brands, one of such is Pixi. Forever an innovative and affordable brand, not to mention beautifully presented. The new launches are both entirely practical and welcome additions to any make-up bag.
Pixi Undercover Crayon in Perk Up Peach £12 each - link
I have spoke about Pixi Correction Concentrate in Brightening Peach in the past, in its original form which is of course a thick, multi-purpose tinted balm. As great as it is, the firm texture can make it a little difficult to work with, especially considering that it is intended for such a delicate area of the face - the eyes. Enter Pixi Undercover Crayon in Perk Up Peach an almost identical formulation: the same shade that brightens and conceals blue tones, full coverage and a product that can be used in many ways other than the traditional concealer route; the main difference (shade name aside) is the texture, this time around it is creamier and easier to apply. Not only is the chunky crayon style packaging easier to grip, allowing for precision but you can apply on the go with minimal mess and effort - simply glide on, blend and you are good to go. As mentioned the texture is lighter this time around without compromising the coverage level - this will disguise even the darkest of circles, cancelling out blue tones as well as brightening and perfecting in one quick swipe. If like myself you have blue eyes then you must try this as a cream eyeshadow - the light orange tone makes blue eyes pop and teamed with the likes of Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette you can create beautiful, super wearable neutral looks. Should you have a light complexion the Pixi Undercover Crayon in Perk Up Peach can double up as a pretty blush for a peaches and cream look or as a matte light nude lipstick.
Pixi Quick Fix Powder £18 - link
Loose powder is great, as it is so finely milled it not only sits better on the face but also tends to offer better oil control - however it is messy. Given the chance most of us would rather not cart around a loose powder in our handbag's through fear of a powder explosion. Well Pixi have offered a solution enter, Pixi Quick Fix Powder - a translucent (suitable for all), light setting powder that not only sets the make-up but controls excess sebum to boot. To use you simply dab the sponge all over the face or in required areas for a matte yet natural finish. The great thing about this there is no mess, the applicator is in-built so you can travel light. If ever there was a loose powder perfect for travel this is it.
Pixi Full Cover Foundation Brush £18 - link
Finding a great foundation brush is easier said than done, they tend to be the most expensive brush to purchase and with that comes the reluctance to purchase something on a whim. Am I right? If you like flat, paddle style foundation brushes this is not the one for you but if you like small, soft buffing brushes for your base then this may be of interest. The Pixi Full Cover Foundation Brush is a little on the small side but doesn't hamper or slow down application. The brush head although small is beyond soft yet dense, it doesn't soak up liquid foundation rather it helps to disperse the foundation over the face for a flawless finish. Due to the dual fibre qualities of this brush it also works well with powder formulations be it a powder foundation or setting powder, it picks up just the right amount of powder again making application a breeze - the same rule applies should you use it for blush/bronzer. As important as it that the brush works well, I need it wash with ease without splaying, loosing its shape or the bristles staining. I can happily report that it scrubs up as new with each wash and never splays or looses it shape. At £18 it is not the cheapest foundation brush out there but it is well worth the investment.
A great assortment of new launches, wouldn't you agree?
