Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub

Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub is a product I instantly fell in love with, a gritty yet soft based scrub that can be used all over - pretty much the product a lazy gal like me dreams of. The only problem is that £7.75 for the smallest tub, which will only last me a week at the most is a pricey habit to upkeep. It is one of those rare finds in which I don't want to use anything else on my skin, yet shell out close to £10 every week or so does seem a little extravagant seeing as I don't use it on my face.

"Limes steeped in vodka, grapefruit and lashings of salt go into this invigorating face and body scrub. Sea salt is rich in minerals and is excellent for scrubbing away any dead skin. We also add rich, silky avocado butter, coconut oil and seaweed absolute to keep your skin soft, smooth and conditioned. If you feel you need a good scrub down, apply to dry skin and rub all over using circular motions, or for a more gentle buff, use on damp skin."

Fragrance wise this is incredible - fresh and zesty thanks to the blend of lime and grapefruit yet slightly aquatic due to the high percentage of salt, very uplifting and ideal for a morning shower wake up call. Forget the scent as the main selling point of this scrub is the wonderful texture - a thick, creamy base with enough grit to remove even the driest of skin. On damp skin (I don't personally like to use it on my dry skin) it almost feels like a  creamy cleanser for the body - after one quick use my skin felt soft and hydrated for hours after, this is due to the blend of avocado butter and coconut oil. It is almost like a cleanser, scrub and moisturiser all rolled into one and really is a joy to use and of course a time saver.

Personally I like to use chemical exfoliants on my face as the gritty texture can irritate my somewhat acne prone skin. If your skin is slightly less picky I see no good reason why this can not be used on the face in moderation - the gritty texture may be a little too harsh for everyday use and to use on dry skin for that matter. I also worry that the vodka could be a little drying over time if repeatedly used on the face but for the body it really is one of, if not the best scrub I have ever used. My only gripe is that I use more than I'd like to each use to polish my entire body, resulting in a good proportion of the tub being used each shower. An expensive habit, yes but one I am less than likely to curb any time soon.
