Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucrée For Summer 2015

This Summer (May 1st launch date), the well loved and already somewhat bitter Thierry Mugler Angel fragrance becomes that little sweeter, and dare I say it mouth-wateringly brilliant in the form of Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucrée. Imagine a grown up candy based scent and you won't go too far wrong. If you have been on the fence about Thierry Mugler scents, deeming them to be too heavy and perhaps night appropriate I urge you to give this a chance. It is a game changer.

This time around the world of Thierry Mugler fragrance have taken inspiration from old school confectionery, which is evident from the vintage style stripe outer packaging. The subtle nods to sugar continue with the now iconic tar shaped bottle featuring glimmer frosted flakes - I imagine this is to mimic icing sugar. The term like a kid in a cake shop springs to mind.

As this is a Thierry Mugler offering Angel Eau Sucrée retains some of its original notes as well as combining three new additions: Red Berry Sorbet - juicy sun ripened raspberries combined with sugar, Caramelized Meringue - crisp with hints of vanilla and lastly individual notes of patchouli and vanilla to add both warmth and a floral kick. How would I describe Angel Eau Sucrée? Obviously it is sweet but that is a given, in my opinion the red berry note really prevails. It is fresh and fruity yet every now and then it is like you are wearing the original Angel fragrance which the almost chocolate notes of Angel creeping in. I should mention that this is identical in terms of fragrance to the original Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucrée which launched last year - the only difference is the bottle design.

Summed up? A spray on sugar hit with delectable red notes that is sweet enough for the brightest of days and very long lasting despite being an eau de toilette.

When this launches on May 1st 2015 (£45/50ml) I urge you to test that at your local counter as it may be the Theirry Mugler fragrance that changes your opinion about the brand.
