I'm sure just about everyone's favourites will mention the fact that the year is merrily zipping past us all. I can not believe we are now in April, between me and you April the 1st is a date I dread yearly as I loathe April Fools. Anyway before I fully expose my grouchy ways let me share what I have been enjoying for the last month or so...
My acne has been much better as of late but my go to base combination has to be Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation and MAC Pro Longwear Concealer - a dream team for covering blemishes and dark circles, without ever being too heavy. The Laura Mercier foundation offers full coverage yet is not prone to caking, looking flat on the skin - it also offers decent oil control and stays put all day long. My only complaint is that it does not contains SPF and we all know how obsessed with SPF I am! MAC Pro Longwear Concealer has been a firm favourite of mine for years, I like that it doesn't crease on my under eye area and a little goes a long, long way. There is no dark circle that MAC Pro Longwear Concealer can not cover.
The obsession with Benefit Roller Lash Mascara continues, I have now finished my full sized tube and have turned to my many sample sized bottles for the moment. Without a doubt I will be repurchasing another tube within the next month or so, no other mascara works so well with my fine, flimsy lashes. I love the length and slight curl it provides and rather enjoy that it doesn't seem to be prone to flaking or smudging. When it comes to eye make-up, more often than not I prefer cream formulations as they are quick and easy to use - the new Elizabeth Arden Cream Eyeshadow Stylo's are wonderful! A soft, creamy, easy to slick on formulation that blends with ease and stays put for a good 8 hours or so. You can of course use the stylo's as a base product to apply powder eyeshadow on top of or as an eye liner. My personal favourite has to be Elizabeth Arden Cream Eyeshadow Stylo in Freshwater Pearl - a beautiful rose gold that is a must for any blue eyed boy/gal out there.
As mentioned above I can not get enough of SPF within my products, I know not everyone is a huge fan due to flashback but I am all about protecting my skin. My favourite facial SPF has to be Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution SPF 50 which doesn't just protect the skin against harmful rays but also environmental damage. It is light, silky, quickly absorbed and does not clog my pores - an instant repurchase if ever there was one. I've spoken in the past about how very few hand creams contain SPF especially on the UK high street, I have however found a great budget version in Norwegian Formula Anti-Ageing Hand Cream SPF 25. It costs less than £5, gently moisturises and nourishes my hands, is a great size and most importantly protects the skin - a new handbag staple for sure.
My skin has been a little drier than normal due to medication so once a week I have been treating it to an at home facial using Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask. This thick yet gentle face mask acts like a deep moisturiser, restoring radiance all the while leaving my skin looking and feeling plumper. I won't pretend that it is not expensive but sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Nightly I have been massaging Caudalie Polyphenol Anti-Wrinkle Defence Serum which my skin seems to enjoy. I like that it acts as a defence mechanism rather than promising to restore already aged skin. My hair is also pretty dried out so along with my normal conditioner I have been relying on L'Oreal Elvive Full Restore Leave in Conditioner, which truthfully is one of the best you will find on a budget. It is light, deeply nourishing and a dream to use. Everyone with long hair should give this a go!
Lastly my most reached for fragrance has to be Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Toilette, a beautifully light, bright and uplifting rose based scent. It is ideal for everyday use and of course the Spring. Fans of the original Stella fragrance simply have to try this.
What have you been enjoying lately?
I have to try out Roller lash mascara as soon as I ran out of They're real. Neutrogena is my favorite brand when it comes to hand creams cause they hidrate skin and don't feel greasy or slippery

Oh great picks. That Sisley mask sounds amazing but the price is a deterrent.

ReplyDeleteAh that's interesting! I used the Caudalie Polyphenol Serum in the day time to "protect" against free radicals and oils at night usually!

I loved the way my lashes looked with the roller lash mascara ...but it would smudge even after a few hours so I had to stop using it. Benefit need to launch a waterproof version! (:

The Laura Mercier foundation sounds lovely, it's just a shame about the lack of SPF. I usually have a bottle lying around but I always like to know there's extra protection in my products. The Elizabeth Arden Stylo's look and sound great, i'd never heard of them before.

I love Benefit rollerlash, I got one of the sample tubes from the magazine (was it Elle or something?) But my sister stole it the moo. Not that I don't steal her stuff but still, I'd only used it once! :)
