My 14 Must Have Products from 2014

New launches, old yet firm favourites, high end splurges and budget finds- let's see what has made the cut in my top 14 products for 2014. As always in no particular order here is my go to products of 2014...

My 14 Must Have Products from 2014

I have a weak spot for fragrances but have narrowed it down to four must try scents; three eau de parfumes and home scent for the home.

1, Jo Malone Incense and Embers Candle - I am utterly obsessed with Jo Malone's Just Like Sunday Collection, out of the four scents I own three with the forth addition firmly on my radar. All four candles are not only luxurious but beautifully blended with unique fragrances you won't find anywhere else. My personal favourite is Jo Malone Incense and Embers - a smoky, woody scent that is a tad masculine yet oddly comforting. I am on my second candle in this fragrance and I seldom re-purchase candles.

2, Dolce, Dolce & Gabanna Eau de Parfum - A light, fresh and somewhat fruity floral in my opinion. The perfect day time scent - noticeable yet not overpowering with incredible lasting power. Fresh and youthful yet not glaringly so. A must try.

3, Burberry My Burberry Eau de Parfum - Inspired by London rain this soft and refreshing floral scent has nestled it's way nicely into my fragrance wardrobe and that is no mean task. It is uplifting and unlike any other floral scent out there - modern and oddly it does remind me of rain soaked Spring months. Another I recommend you try as soon as possible.

4, YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum - Admittedly I am not a fan of the original YSL Opium fragrance but this is incredible. I throw around the term sexy when it comes to scents perhaps a little too loosely but trust me when I say this is the fragrance most worthy of the title. Alluring yet not overpowering, familiar thanks to the vanilla yet different to any other vanilla based scent due to the black coffee and floral notes. I can pretty much assure you that you will be hooked from the first spray.

5, Clarins True Radiance Foundation - 2014 was a great year for foundation which several wonderful relases but my star find of the year has to be Clarins True Radiance Foundation. A light weight almost gel, liquid textured foundation that blends seamlessly into the skin offering medium coverage with a light yet glowy finish. The term my skin but better is often thrown around but this is the one foundation worthy of such title. Whenever I wear this I get asked countless times what my base is. If you are in the market for a new foundation, I urge you to give this a try.

6, Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors - I am a huge fan of matte yet liquid lipsticks, I find that they tend to stay in place far longer than any other formula and tend to be more comfortable to wear too. In my opinion no liquid lipstick can quite touch the Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors, they do not budge, flake, smudge or smear. If only they were easier to get in the UK!

7, Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl in Nude - Easily one of the best nude eye liners I have ever tried, it glides on with ease, stays put even when my eyes begin to water and really creates big, bright, peepers. Even if nude eyeliner is not for you I can not recommend picking up a Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Pencil enough (be it black, brown or blue). They are dupes for the infamous Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners only much cheaper and in my opinion come in better shades.

8, MAC Lip Liner in Whirl - Before it was claimed she used MAC Soar, Brave or Spice lip liners the internet was abuzz that MAC Lip Liner in Whirl was what Kylie Jenner used to overdraw her lips. In all honesty I am long past caring and think her lips look ridiculous (hey she is only 17, I committed far worse make-up crimes back in the day) but do think this is a beautiful shade none the less. This muted pink tinged nude is the perfect every day lip for me and being a liner I can define my lips as well as adding a little colour. Good luck finding it in stock though.

9, Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist - This is my go to deep nude lipstick of choice. This is slightly pink toned nude with a strong brown undertone, pushed I would say it is neutral and should suit most complexions. The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets are a little prone to sinking into dry areas of the lips and can flake if not allowed to dry fully. It is worth the extra effort i.e using a balm and lip scrub before use as once they set they do not budge and offer full pigmentation all day long. As a side note I do like to team this with Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob which is easily one of my favourite lip liners ever.

10, Clinique Chubby Sticks for Cheeks - I am all about convenience and these universally tinted cream blushes couldn't be easier to apply, simply dot onto the skin and blend. As someone with oily skin I can safely say that this is one of the longest wearing cream formulas I have tried. In a nutshell four great blush shades that are easy as pie to apply, wear and forever look fresh on the skin. Ten of ten!

My 14 Must Have Products from 2014

11, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair II - I can not live without this miracle serum in a bottle, it brightens, tightens and leaves my skin looking and feeling wonderful with next to no effort. There is plenty of science involved none of which I shall bog you down with, all I know is that without it my skin is dull and lacklustre. I can not be without it.

12, Origins Make a Difference Overnight Hydrating Repair Cream - As someone with both young and an extremely oily complexion finding a night cream that suits my needs is more rather difficult. I want and need something light yet repairing, a cream or gel that is quickly absorbed, not overly hydrating yet intense enough for the cold Winter weather. A demanding list wouldn't you agree? The truth is not many night creams fit the bill but Origins Make a Difference Overnight Hydrating Repair Cream is pretty much the answer to my night time skin woes and one I recommend to all even if you don't have oily and/or a young skin type. My go to night cream by a long shot.

13, Zoeva Brushes - The Zoeva brand in general has been my favourite find of 2014 but the brushes are what really blew me away; well priced, soft and a dream to use - not to mention there is a tool for every need. If you have yet to try Zoeva brushes make it your New Year beauty resolution for 2015.

14, Tom Ford Carnal Red Nail Lacquer - The red nail polish that made me fall in love with red beauty products all over again. Red nails are equally sexy and classic, this easy to apply polish is not only beautiful to look at but extremely long wearing. I have lost count to how many times I have reached for this shade over the last few months. My most used nail polish of 2014 by far.

I could gush on with another 14 product recommendations for the year that was 2014 with ease but I shall draw a line here, do feel free to share your top picks below.

Have a wonderful New Year everyone.
