If awards were dished out for wonderful packaging I am sure Benefit Puff Off would come up trumps! A cutely packaged eye gel that has been designed to instantly smooth out fine lines, de-puff as well as cooling and soothing the eye area. As you can see the applicator tip is shaped like an iron which is of course a nod to smoothing out lines much like you do with creases on clothing but it isn't just for the novelty factor. The angled iron shaped nozzle is the perfect shape and size for ease of use when applying to a fairly tricky area. The nozzle allows for precision while the metal tip cools and massages - it really is a treat to use, even on the go. My only advice which rings true for just about eye tubed eye cream product is not to squeeze too firmly as it will result in excess product and of course waste. The good news is that Benefit Puff Off is not prone to leakage.
In my opinion Benefit Puff Off feels like a primer come eye cream which I feel the market is currently lacking - off the top of my head I can not think of anything similar? Benefit Puff Off has a light, gel yet almost silicone (much lighter than Benefit Porefessional) like texture which is quickly absorbed into the skin, it cools and fills as well as having a tightening and lifting effect. I don't as such see this as an anti-ageing product but rather a temporary filler, it gently "plumps up" any lines, creases and/or wrinkles around the eyes as well as creating an even base for make-up. Personally I like to use Benefit Puff Off after eye cream in the morning as a lightweight and refreshing primer for make-up. I find the light texture agrees with my dehydrated skin - it adds a light moisture boost without being overwhelming and leaves the area looking and feeling fresh. As someone with an oily eye area I find Benefit Puff Off prevents my mascara and any make-up applied to my lower eye area from smudging or creasing, with similar effects on my upper eye area too. It is really easy to use and fairly hydrating and can be used under, over or without make-up. As a side note if applying over make-up I recommend squeezing a little onto your ring finger and dabbing on rather than using the in-built applicator. By doing so you can ensure your make-up is not disturbed. I was also told it can be used along with an eye cream as a serum to intensify said eye cream - I'm not really sure how that would work but I guess it is something to keep in mind. The good news is that it is really gentle and my easily irritated skin and eyes for that matter seemed to rather enjoy it.
Benefit Puff Off won't launch until January/February and will cost £22.50 but if you are looking for something to gently smooth, de-puff and cool the eye area this is worth the wait!

Sunday Girl, I agree with you about the awards for best design. LOL ^_^
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how much thought and design goes into making a beauty product.
One of my favorite brands at the moment, that always has great packaging designs, is Too Faced cosmetics.
I find that both Too Faced and Benefit really think about the experience of the customer. It is always a fantasy when looking at their products. They make me want to stock up on all their goods and keep them as souvenirs.
Good post!

When I first saw the applicator I was very confused as I've not heard about this product until now. It sounds like a brilliant product :) I've mentioned you in my latest blog post about my favourite blogs of 2014 :)

Great post, would you say that this product is universal? I know from other posts it looks as though it might be slightly tinted (similar to Porefessional) I can usually get slightly tinted products to work for me but I fear this may look ashy on darker skin tones….would interesting to hear if this is marketed as universal or not as it looks like an interesting product :D xx

I just saw this on the shelves in Sephora here in the States and the smell was funky. Not sure I want to get this but have an eye product addiction :). May have to get this!

I agree that the market is lacking in this department, and that is why I'm so interested in this product! Anything to do with eyes and de-puffing has me instantly intrigued - so I'll definitely be trying this for myself.

This product really appeals to me - partly for my post-festivities party eyes and also because I was always the iron in monopoly..

I love metal applicator - they do make a difference to puffiness, I think. Smashbox also do an undereye primer and it's fine, but it does lack the cooling tip.
ReplyDeleteI really like the sound of this, but I don't exactly like the price tag. I'm definitely going to give it a go when I go to a Benefit stand again.
