Five Autumn Ready Fragrances to Try

Autumn is by far my favourite season, crunchy leaves, candles, woolly jumpers and a chill in the air - what's not to love? With that in mind I have gathered together my must try fragrances...

Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Parfum - The most floral scent out of the five and the one that took the longest for me to warm to. If you like rose or amber notes or even better both then this is the scent you need to try. In my opinion it is a great Autumnal day fragrance as it has depth yet is still fairly light and floral. This is not at a powdery rose scent but rather rich thanks to the amber addition. In a nutshell an original, grown up rose offering that is both cool and sexy!

Thierry Mugler Alien Eau de Parfum - This is my signature scent and one I always have nestled in my stash. This is officially listed as a rich, floral yet woody fragrance which contains amber, jasmine sambac, cashmeran wood and white amber. Notes aside this reminds me of cold, evenings - it has a certain mystic that is best suited to evening wear particularly if it is Autumn or Winter. This is easily the longest wearing parfum I own.

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid Eau de Parfum -  A quick break down of the notes: bergamot, mandarin, Succan absolute (purified rum extract) and honey which gives the scent a creamy, sweet and floral overall scent. Yes this does smell somewhat similar to the original Tom Ford Black Orchid but is more floral, lighter and perhaps best suited for day wear. I must warn that compared to the original Tom Ford Orchid the wear time is definitely reduced. This simply does not cling to my skin quite like Black Orchid does but I would say I prefer it all the same.

YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum -  Warm, sweet (not sickly), slightly vanilla based with a hint of chocolate. This may sound good enough to eat but it is fact rather sensual, cosy and very much an Autumnal or evening scent. I personally loathe the original YSL Opium scent and yet this is my current go to fragrance - I can't urge you enough to try this the next time you are at a counter. Prepare to want!

Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne - Fresh, earthen and slightly salty. Admittedly not something that sounds all that great on paper but trust me when I say that I have yet to meet someone who doesn't enjoy this fragrance. It is slightly masculine yet dries slightly powdery, like I said it doesn't sound all wonderful but it is unlike any other Jo Malone cologne and completely different from the heedy other four scents that make my final cut.

What is your go to Autumn scent, I could do with adding to my list ha!
