My Party Essentials

Hands up who already has a few parties and dinners in their diary for the festive period?
Me too...me too. I may not have my dresses or shoes chosen just yet (hello ASOS Premier next delivery please and thank you) but I do have a few essentials that may just help you...

My Party Essentials

Before any party I take the longest shower known to man, scrubbing and buffing away any dead skin and of course shaving my legs. I tend to rely on L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil as it moisturises my body as it cleanses and makes a great shaving gel alternative. To shave my legs and what not recently I have discovered Bic Soleil Lady Razors (you can follow all the fun Bic going on's via Facebook) which are quick and easy to use. I am a little (okay a lot) scared of germs so the fact that they not only glide over the skin ensuring you are free from cuts but are disposable suits me to the ground. I also rather enjoy that they come in scented variations and feature pretty girly handles. A quick dollop of body lotion all over and I am good to go. I do typically self tan the night before but hey it is the Autumn time to embrace my natural skin tone and forget being bronze!

I personally when going out at night like a super matte base (normally Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Smooth Foundation) with a strong contour but like to offset it with a light pinky peach blush such as NARS Deep Throat Blush. If you have a light to medium skin tone this is a great blush to own. It is a fairly light shade that doesn't appear all that special in the pan but it really does brighten the complexion as well as adding a gentle flush. I can be a little heavy handed so I do err on the safe side when it comes to highlighters. My current go to highlighter is Boots No.7 Instant Radiance Highlighter which is a chubby crayon that is not only easy to apply but super flattering. It gives a light pearl pink glow to the skin which is flattering even if like myself you have enlarged pores or skin that is less than perfect. The beauty of this particular highlighter is that you can blend it out for a sheer glisten or apply in layers for a more full on finish that is party ready!

For a night out I do tend to go for a full cat flick liner look - gel liner such as Maybelline Lasting Drama Black Shock Gel Liner, lots of mascara and if I am feeling fancy a pair of false eyelashes (I swear by Ardell Demi Wispies). I realise this sounds super low key but I do think if you are going for a heavy contour and bright lip certain elements do need to be parred down. Speaking of lips my current go to bold lip choice is L'Oreal Glam Shine Matte Lip Gloss in Cherry Crop. The name of this product is utterly ridiculous - how can a product be glossy and matte at the same time? It can't is the answer but this red come pink shade is utterly beautiful, long wearing and really makes my lips look full just don't expect a true matte finish!

A quick spritz of Thierry Mugler Alien Eau de Parfum and I am good to go.
