Clarins Graphic Expression Face and Blush Powder

Leave it to Clarins to create another beautiful powder offering for the upcoming Autumn and Winter seasons,
the only problem is that as usual the embossing on the powder is so visually stunning that using it is almost painful...almost.

I'm sure you do not need me to harp on about the packaging which in brief is sleek, gold in tone with a huge mirror and robust but would rather I concentrated on the product inside which is a feast for the eyes.
The Clarins Graphic Expression Face and Blush Powder reflects the title with a pretty but graphic print which features diagonal lines of various widths and shades which include nude, peach, dusky pink and gold.
It should come with a warning - neutral fans beware!

The majority of the palette in terms of colour is constructed of a light toned peachy apricot shade that is warm in tone and a typical face setting powder shade, it is of course warmed up with the addition of the dusky pink and deeper tan stripes. The golden accent is an over spray so should you not be a fan of shimmer you can remove it rather quickly with the aide of a large fluffy brush. Some of the stripes are fairly chunky and substacial in size so they could be used alone perhaps as an eyeshadow?
The general concept of this palette is that all of the shades should be used together to form either a blush or face powder depending on your skin tone and/or preference.
When combined the shades produce a warm bronze pink that reminds me a little of MAC's Blushbaby Blush.

As the Clarins Graphic Expression Face and Blush Powder is almost matte (the pink stripes are shimmer based the rest are matte) in formula it works well both as a blush and face powder, it sets make-up without leaving a heavy uncomfortable sensation and helps keep oil at bay without nestling into open pores or fine lines which is always a welcome addition in my book. Despite being almost matte this powder has the ability to brighten the skin and if the colour is suited to your complexion, brushed all over the face it can help to even the skin tone all the while being illuminating without the need for chunky shimmer particles. Truthfully I don't think many will use this as an all over setting powder, rather most will most likely see it as a light neutral blush. In terms of wear when worn as a face powder I found it to be effective for around 8 hours and as a blush it was around the 6 hour mark but my cheeks are the area most prone to oil and as a result most should experience a longer wear time than I do.
