If you heart pines for deep, warm Autumnal shades then look no further than the three new Clarins Joli Rouge Lipsticks that join the Autumn/Winter collection for 2013's Graphic Expression Collection.
Vampy, rosy and a deep nude this trio has it all.
Clarins Joli Rouge Lipsticks are the perfect blend of pigment, moisture and sheen
all encased and neatly presented within one sleek and sophisticated silver case.
The formula is light yet has a decent amount of pigmentation and doesn't need to be caked on to provide full coverage yet retains a light lip balm feel which it could also rival in terms of hydration which is due to the inclusion of mango butter.
In terms of wear I find the Joli Rouge formula to last around three hours before fading,
the one fault I do find with this particular lipstick is that it tends to gather and settle around my outer lips
giving a slight liner effect and the darker shades bleed (evident with the royal plum shade) I do want to stress that it far less noticeable in reality than on camera but worth noting none the less.
The three new shades joining the line up are:
736 Pink Camellia - A mid toned rosy pink with a slight blue undertone, not so much that it makes the shade run overly cool but enough to give the appearance of whiter teeth. This has a slight frost finish but is not at all gritty rather the frost aspect helps to give the illusion of fuller lips.
737 Spicy Cinnamon - If ever there was a lipstick to capture the warmth of Autumn this is it. A mid toned brunt orange that has a slight brown tone and oddly does lean slightly red. For me this is the perfect blend of red, brown and orange and is unlike anything else I own. The stand out shade for sure and a great alternative for those who tend to reach for typical red shades.
738 Royal Plum - This shade appears far more deeper in tone in bullet form but once applied it more of a muted plum that is of course cool in tone. If you want to tap into the whole vampy vibe that comes around every Autumn but prefer something a little less full on in both colour and coverage this is the route to take. I do warn that this shade bleeds as you can see above so I do recommend using this with a suitable liner and for perhaps a sealant.
