Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer

I was lucky enough to attend the event for Benefit's newest primer - Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer  in Edinburgh last Friday, you can read all about the even and my little trip to the Hard Rock Cafe Edinburgh here -link. Since Saturday I have been putting the Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer to the test to see just how well it fairs on oily skin and if it could replace Benefit Porefessional within my routine.

We might as well address the packaging before we get into the nitty gritty. Yes it does look rather like Topshop's make-up range with the polk-a-dots and plastic style but at the event we were assured that it was merely a coincidence and that the packaging for this particular product was in-fact drawn up years in advance. That aside I rather like the stick style applicator of this product it allows it to be mess, fuss free and as it is fairly compact it is travel friendly too.

Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer

The Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer is a light beige in colour which applies transparent so it is suitable for all skin tones. To apply you simply twist up the primer and apply it directly to cleansed but dry skin before you apply your foundation and/or other base products. The idea is that the primer acts as a magnet keeping foundation and/or other base products in place for longer than had you not used the primer with some experiencing up to 15 hours of wear time and others have claimed that it has improved the level of coverage given by their foundation as well as their skin looking smoother. To get the best results I would imagine that it would work best with Benefit's Stay Flawless Foundation.

Truthfully I do like Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer but I don't deem it to be ideal for my skin type.
Yes it does help foundation stay in place longer than if I skip primer but on my oily skin the wear time is no where near 15 hours - closer to the six hour mark before my foundation begins to wear off. I think the main problem is that I have oily skin as well as enlarged pores so I need my primer to not only prime my skin but to help keep my skin matte and hide imperfections neither of which this does. If you have normal or dry skin I do think this light silky primer will be ideal and will be wonderful for keeping your foundation in place without looking heavy or caking your base products but if you have oily skin I'm afraid I deem it to be a miss!
