Estee Lauder's Pure Colour Illuminating Powder Gelee in Heatwave

Can we all have a moment of silence in appreciation for the beauty of this highlighter...
and breathe! Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess Collection is simple yet truly divine and one of the few recent launches that I have not been able to resist but the pièce de résistance has to be Estee Lauder's Pure Colour Illuminating Powder Gelee in Heatwave. If you can find one (they are selling fast) snap it up instantly you will not regret it.

Unlike the bronzers in this years Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess collection the Pure Colour Illuminating Powder Gelee in Heatwave does not come in special packaging but in classic Estee Lauder style - gold tone with the decorative Estee Lauder logo. However once you open up the compact you are greeted with an beautifully engraved powder...it reminds me of sunbeams or perhaps sand dunes which is only heightened by the shade of the powder.

Estee Lauder's Pure Colour Illuminating Powder Gelee in Heatwave is of course a bright true gold shade but as it is a finely milled highlight product you don't have to worry about the tone of the gold being too stark.
Truthfully I do think the golden hues of Heatwave are best suited to those with a warm or golden undertone to their skin. Yet with summer on the way I'm sure a good portion of us will be aiming to look a little more bronze be it from a bottle or catching some rays on the beach, either way with a tan this will truly sizzle.
If like myself you find that golden toned highlighters are the shades you most reach for then this is well worth the investment as it is more refined than the likes of Benefit's Sunbeam, Dior Amber Diamond (now discontinued) and far less glittery than any MAC MSF, truth be told finding a decent golden highlighter is easier said than done.

In terms of texture and sensation Estee Lauder's Pure Colour Illuminating Powder Gelee in Heatwave is very and I mean very akin to MAC's In Extra Dimension Skin Finishes or blushes for that matter. The powder is firm to the touch yet somewhat melts on to the skin, cooling as it goes all the while dispensing a light touch of radiance to the skin. The beauty of  Estee Lauder's Pure Colour Illuminating Powder Gelee in Heatwave is that it does not contain glitter in any form or large chunks of shimmer particles so the end result is subtle, think Jennifer Lopez's infamous glow in powder form and you have hit the nail on the head. Like I said the effect is refined and wonderful for those like myself who enjoy adding a little dimension and radiance to the skin without the worry of drawing attention to their enlarged pores. In terms of wear we are talking up to 10 hours when used with primer, without it is around the 8 hour mark but do keep in mind I have oily skin to contend with.

Random Fact - Certain beaches and sand dunes create mysterious sounds that scientists still don’t completely understand.
They sing, whistle, boom, bark and even at times sound like a frog.
