On Wednesday I was gifted with a bottle of Jo Malone Wild Bluebell Cologne from my friend as a belated birthday present and my goodness is it divine. Truthfully Jo Malone Wild Bluebell has not been on my radar and it is not a scent that I would have picked up myself but now I have it I will admit I am dumbstruck. Floral fragrances aren't normally for me but the soft and fresh scent of Jo Malone Wild Bluebell Cologne has me hooked. Gone are the days when floral based scents rung powdery and belonged in the grasp of an old dear.
"Vibrant sapphire blooms in a shaded woodland. The delicate sweetness of dewy bluebells suffused with lily of the valley and eglantine, and a luscious twist of persimmon. A mesmerising fragrance."
Truthfully I can't think of a similar scent to compare it to and that is rare. I liken it to freshly cut grass on a summer's day - grassy but sweet at the same time as it apparently also contains a note of fresh melon which again only cements this cologne as the perfect accompaniment to a warm lazy sunny day. Summed up a great clean fragrance that begs to be paired with a crisp white shirt.
On a side note it the decision to purchase me a bottle of Jo Malone Wild Bluebell Cologne was based on the fact that as a young girl I believed that Faeries lived in Bluebells. I used to swear I could hear them ringing...I of course couldn't and had what can only be described as an wonderful imagination. To this day whenever bluebells bloom I pick a few and bring them inside for a little trip down dusty memory lane. How sweet of my friend to remember that story and for that reason alone Jo Malone Wild Bluebell Cologne will always have a special place in my heart and on my dresser.

Random Fact - Estimates suggest the UK has up to half of the world's total bluebell population.

Really good to find your blog and also this post. I live this particular Jo Maline fragrance too but it somehow didn't seem as popular as I thought it should be. I sometimes spray some before bed because it is such a relaxing scent. Ann x
