If you ever have the misfortune of stumbling into me sans make-up not only would you recoil in horror (I know I do most mornings) but you would most probably notice that my face is several shades lighter than my body. The reason for my reverse ombre body effect is due to the fact I have never allowed my face to tan and always wear a high sunscreen...yup even here in sunny Scotland. I refuse to age prematurely and if that means a case of pale face then so be it. I say pale face when really I am naturally quite olive and untanned real or faux I am around the NC30 mark in MAC but my body is around an NC35...annoying I know.
Anyway I have noticed that a good self tanner for the face helps to not only warm up my skin tone a smidgen but to also even out my complexion and as a result aiding the disguise of my pesky old acne scars.
I'll be blunt and state that when it comes to self tanners there is very few that I have tested out over the years (I danced my entire childhood all the way through until I was 21 so I've had my fair share of self tanning experiences and the two I always run back to are Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning Lotion for my face and St.Tropez for my body. Both products never over bronze and work with my natural skin tone to add a little depth of colour all the while giving a very natural finish...not an orange streak in sight!
Like most I have to be careful with what I apply to my face but I have yet to have anything but wonderful results from Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning Lotion which conveniently happens to be a breeze to apply. Simply apply a little to a cotton pad and swipe over your face, neck and decollete and allow it to work its magic overnight. The next day you will awaken to a healthy summer glow that J-Lo herself would be jealous of! Oh and as an ending plus point a little goes a long way, I use this maybe twice a week (sometimes more) and find a bottle lasts up to three months.

This product is exciting. I have heard many reviews recently about it. I always get worried applying tanning products, but if it goes on evenly it may be a product worth investing in.

Can I ask how much you apply? I bought this last weekend and I tried it for the 1st time a few nights ago but it streaked a bit :( I put it on a cotton pad but I think I would have been better off using my hands to ensure it didn't streak and was applied equally all over my face. It was definitely dry before I got into bed but I did apply it over my moisturiser... It's the 1st fake tan product I have ever used so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong!
ReplyDeleteReally want to try this, it's on my wishlist! Heard so many good things x

I'm very seriously considering running out and buying this soon. I've heard so many great reviews, and I also get the face-lighter-than-body issue :D
