If you saw yesterday's post on the beautiful Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Radiant Bronzing Powder -link then I have a sneaky feeling you are going to enjoy this equally stunning eyeshadow trio.
If you have yet to view Elizabeth Arden New York in Bloom Collection then I urge you do so, each item is beautifully packaged and very wearable particularly if you like pretty pastels.
Speaking of pastels let's crack on with the review of Elizabeth Arden Eyeshadow Trio in Violet Bloom.
Like I said yesterday I have always had a soft spot for Elizabeth Arden's packaging with their subtle nods to their infamous red door symbol. This time around the items of the Elizabeth Arden New York in Bloom Collection of course still features the red door but they also have a really pretty and simple floral print too that is fitting for Spring - the eyeshadow's also have a touch of lilac in the packaging. For a trio the compact is pretty small but is completely sturdy and robust for that matter complete with a great quality mirror.
The trios featured in the Elizabeth Arden New York in Bloom Collection are available in two colour familes: Violet Bloom (pink/purples) and Viridian Bloom (blues). I of course have the Violet Bloom option which contains three narrow but beautifully embossed with a floral print strips. Violet Bloom features a cool toned light taupe which is metallic in finish, a bright but light pink which is satin in formula and last but not least a deep matte cool toned plum. I utterly adore the taupe shade and really do hope that Elizabeth Arden offer it as a solo eyeshadow. The other two shades aren't to my taste but I will admit that the plum works wonderfully well as a crease shade.
Given that all three shades held within the compact have various formulas you woud expect them to perform very differently from one and other. Well that is not the case, each shade is wonderfully pigmented (even more so if you wet the shade) and apply with such ease and next to no fall out.
Sometimes with bright, light shades they can be stark and apply ashen well the pink was not prone to that nor was the matte plum chalky. The shades may not be of my preference but I can not fault the formula and when used with a primer it really is a case of they stay put until you physically remove them. Another winning formula from Elizabeth Arden!
