Bourjois Cream Blush Review

Bourjois are utterly slaying us at the moment with their new launches each one better than the last. I have found myself becoming a bit of a fan girl anxiously awaiting their next launch, 2013 in terms of high street make up definitely belongs to Bourjois and rightly so too! Their newest branch to their mighty oak tree of cosmetics is the unveiling of Bourjois Cream Blush collection and boy do you want to note down their launch date (15th of May) as they are nothing short of amazing.

Much like the original Bourjois Little Round Pots of Blush the new Bourjois Cream Blush range come presented within small, circular, flip top plastic compacts that are colour coordinated to match the shade inside. Only this time around they are slightly flatter (they don't have to accommodate a doom shaped blush)but still have the usual touches such as a mirror inside. Compact, sturdy and pretty just what you want from any cosmetic item, no complaints from me what so ever!

When the Bourjois Cream Blush collection launches there will be four shades in total: 01 Nude Velvet, 02 Healthy Glow, 03 Rose Tender and 04 Sweet Cherry. All four shades to my eye are suited to most skin tones and offer a great variety of shades - nude, coral, pink and peach. I was sent three shades in total and truthfully those are the shades I would purchase for myself as I never really wear pink blush...I must remedy that *makes mental note to dig out a pink blush or two*.

01 Nude Velvet: "A light and delicate peach with a matte finish for a subtle effect". Although described as a nude I would have to argue that this is a yellow based coral meets peach shade that will most likely be the biggest seller out of the quad, and understandably as it has summer written all over it.

02 Healthy Glow: "A vibrant and slightly pearly apricot pink for an immediate healthy glow effect." I adore this shade and would list it as an orange toned coral that adds not only a pinch of colour to the cheeks but also a healthy glow hence the name. A brilliant and natural shade that should look great on most.

04 Sweet Cherry: "A deep matte brown-pink for a fresh, outdoor complexion". I utterly adore shades of this nature a medley of pink and brown that is the closest to nude out of all four shades. Bourjois Cream Blush in Sweet Cherry reminds me of Bobbi Brown's Rouge Pot in Powder Pink.
Out of all four this is the most universal and dare I say it grown up shade, if you are new to cream blushes this is the shade I recommend as it is hard to go wrong with this pinky-brown hue.

Enough about the shades and on to the formula!
Yes it may have been 150 years in the making but it honestly has been worth the wait (I say that like I have personally been waiting a century and a half). Each shade has a firm but easy to use and blend out texture - firm enough that it doesn't turn to a gloopy mess yet soft enough that it instantly picks up on to a brush or fingertips. Speaking of texture once on the skin it blends out with such ease, with a light almost gel like consistency that is not sticky in the slightest - perfect for the warmer months when all you want is something light and comfortable on the skin.
The beauty of Bourjois Cream Blushes is that you can wear them sheer or build up in layers for a more intense finish without it ever looking heavy or turning ashen like a powder product. Although some shades have been listed as matte I don't really find that to be true, no they don't contain any traces of shimmer but they do have a slight dewy finish which isn't true of a matte product. As these are cream blushes you can really get bang for your buck but doubling them up as lip colours, I know I have. I'm sure most know by now that I have oily skin well rest assure that even on my slippery skin the Bourjois Cream Blushes wear for at least 6 hours before begining to fade.

Basically I adore the new Bourjois Cream Blush* range and urge you all to hit your local Bourjois counter this coming May - 8th for Selfridges (both online and in-store) and the 15th of May for elsewhere - Boots, Superdrug, ASOS etc for £7.99.
