Excuse the UB40 title, it says more about my 90's childhood than you'll ever need to know.
That aside deep red wine shades seem to be accumulating in my nail polish stash
and for very good reason, if there is one shade that can carry you through Autumn and Winter
without a second thought it is a deep wine and today I have my top shades with something for every budget.

OPI in Lincoln Park After Dark
If you only buy one nail polish this Autumn and require it to be vampy them this is the shade I declare
my holy grail of plum/wine shades and one I use all year round.
OPI Lincoln After Dark is an intense blackened plum shade that can look almost black
but make no mistake you will feel very lady like with this on your nails.

NYC Nail Polish in Manhattan
If you are looking for a typical crème finish red wine shade for everyday wear then NYC Manhattan is a must have, it has a strong red tone but leans slightly plum in some lights and is pretty much a suit all shade
that is so reasonably priced!

Zoya Nail Polish in Gem
Sometimes you need a little sparkle in your life yet don't want to take the glitter route,
Zoya nail polish is Gem in a deep brown almost red with the tiniest amount of plum hint
that glimmers under any light and is the shade I recommend to those who like something a little different.

Mememe Nail Polish in Seductive
I do enjoy a metallic nail polish every now and then but bore quite quickly of the typical silver and gold
shades so this warm brown, tinged red wine shade is a nice yet unusual way to sport metallic nails.

Topshop Nail Polish in Subterfuge
If you haven't treated yourself to a Topshop nail polish you really are missing out,
they are so well priced and the formula really is perfection - two coats and they are fully opaque
not to mention they release new shades each and every month!
My current favourite shade by them is Subterfuge which is a rich yet slightly metallic plum shade
with a strong red undertone...it is so lovely on short nails.

Barry M Nail Paint in Ruby Glitter
Okay technically this is a pink/red glitter polish but I'm a firm believer that we all need a little glitter in our lives (next i'll be quoting Honey Boo Boo) and there is no other shade that quite layers over a deep red shade like this and at £2.99 you'd be foolish not to snip a bottle up for yourself for any upcoming festivities!

Do you like red wine shades for your nails?
