There is a new nail polish brand in town...say hello to NV Nail Polishes
which come in a huge variety of shades and finishes from neon's to crackle's
and some funky glitters too there is something for everyone and the prices are great too!

Normally with budget aimed products the packaging can be a little hit and miss
but the NV polishes are individually packaged in funky cardboard boxes
and are presented in large chunky square shaped bottles with a good sized brush inside.
When these arrived a few days ago I honestly assumed these polishes would retail for around £10
so imagine my surprise when I learnt that prices start at £2.99!
Kudos to NV for not skimping on the packaging.

On to the formula and shades...

NV Pillar Box*
Pillar Box is of course a red tone and it has a strong blue undertone
which is most evident when it is in the bottle as certain ways the light hits the bottom it reflects
to form a purple tone, it's a shame it doesn't apply this way.
On the nails it is a typical red shade which is a great addition to any stash if you don't already
own a typical blue based red as the formula is easy to apply, doesn't streak and dries quickly
but it does require three coats to become opaque.
I would deem Pillar Box a jelly type polish.

NV Lagoon*
If like myself you aren't quite ready to ditch the summer brights in favour of deep shades for
the autumn but want something a little richer than your typical turquoise shade then this is the one for you.
Lagoon is a rich green based turquoise cream that is opaque in two coats
and is a complete joy to apply - fast drying, streak free and bursting with pigment.
This is my favourite out of the quad I have to review!

NV Hello Sailor*
Speaking of Autumn this shade is the perfect royal blue to see you through the crisp weather
while firmly on trend - blue nails have been everywhere lately.
The beauty of Hello Sailor is that although retrospectively a blue tone it does have hints of purple
which adds to its beauty and makes it that more special!
Much like Lagoon this was opaque in two coats and can not be faulted in terms of application.

NV Stardust*
Hold the phones I may have found my Guy Fawkes Night nail polish - please say I am not
the only one who plans this far in advance?
Starburst is a clear base with holographic silver flecks of glitter complete with little star
cut oust that just pop when layered over another polish.
For maximum effect I do recommend applying over a dark shade to really make it pop!
I have applied it over NV Hello Sailor for a quick and easy night sky effect.
You can of course layer this polish up for full coverage but I don't have the patience haha!
I achieved the above results with two coats and by dabbing the polish on,
this did take a little longer to dry than the standard nail polishes.

NV is well stocked in the UK as you can see from the links below
but you can also get up to date news etc from NV's Facebook page - link

Nail Polish Disclaimer - I no longer comment on the wear time as we all apply polishes differently (top/base coats etc) and as I change my polish almost daily sometimes several times a day due to swatching purposes I do not feel that I can fairly comment on wear time.
