Dita Von Teese has recently paired up with Art Deco to launch a collection of
make-up products all of which have the old school Hollywood glamour we have come to know
and love from the siren that is Dita Von Teese, with her motto of “Beauty is Art”, Dita invites all women to feel beautiful with her Dita Von Teese Classics collection.
This is Dita's first full sized collection and trust me when I say it has not to be missed.
"The truth is that I‘m quite an ordinary looking girl. When I was a little girl, I remember watching classic Hollywood films from the 40s and noticing that these glorious women were painted that way. Glamour is about of creation, and any woman who desires it can learn to create it for herself as I have. I believe that makeup has the power to transform an ordinary woman into an extraordinary one." - Dita Von Teese
I have been trying two items from the collection both in the most perfect pin up red shade -
what else would expect from a Dita Von Teese collection?
However I do want to point out that surprisingly the collection does feature pink
and orange shades too so should you be a fan of Dita and/or Art Deco but not so much a wearer
of red there should be something there for you too!
The packaging of all the items in the collection is black with a small caricature of Dita,
it is fitting with Dita's old school glamour style - timeless and chic.
Both items that I have tested are well constructed and lipstick certainly feels high end
as the case is fairly weighted.
Dita Von Tesse Art Deco Art Couture Lipstick in shade 637* £18.50/4g - link
Confusingly Art Deco or Dita have decided that this is a pink shade as they have named the shade
Follies Pink but most certainly is a blue tinged red that just screams old school glamour
and is begging to be paired with feline style black eye liner.
The formula of the lipstick is soft yet highly pigmented, it applies with ease and feels soft and silken
on the lips despite being matte in formula.
The shade stayed on my lips for around 4 hours before fading to a deep crimson stain
which stayed in place until washed off with soap and water.
Dita Von Tesse Art Deco Nail Polish in shade 10* £10 - link
Every woman should have a classic red nail polish and this fits the bill perfectly.
It is a timeless true red shade that does have a slight blue undertone and dries to a high sheen finish.
When I slick this on I can not help but feel glamorous and grown up (that's a first)
but the down side is that this formula does require three coats to become opaque.
However each coat dries quickly and does not streak or apply patchy.
All of the products mentioned were supplied by Tender Loving Care - link
which is a great website to find hard to source brands such as Art Deco.
If you do order anything at all from the Tender Loving Care site be sure to use the code The Sunday Girl Blog in the comment section as any order over £30 will receive a free pack of Art Deco eyebrow stencils!
I love her philopsophy behind the collection! Looks gorgeous.

I couldn't agree more! :)
DeleteI love this collection, it's so glamorous! Absolutely love the eyeshadow palettes and powder!
ReplyDeleteThe products are all beautiful aren't they! I could easily snap it all up...well if I had the money haha!
DeleteThat lipstick is too die for! Very pricey though :/ looks gorgeous xox
ReplyDeleteThank you :) yeah I agree but I do think for a one off treat it's not too bad but I wouldn't pay it for an non l.e/special product.
DeleteI loved swatching this collection in Debenhams. It helps that AD and Dita are two of my favourite things as it is! The only thing for me is that, because it's 'classic glamour', I find I have a lot of shades that can dupe for it. :(
ReplyDeleteAh i'm the opposite I have so many coral shades so this is a step out of the ordinary for me but did you check out the blushes/eyeshadows or even the lip lacquers there may be something a little less dupable for you?
DeleteAnd a wonderful step out of the ordinary it is!
DeleteI am really tempted by the pink/silver blush - 21, I think? - because I definitely don't own anything like it. And it's so pretty! I'm just kind of bummed that we don't have a proper AD section in Newcastle/Gateshead. Just a tiny stall at the tills! And yet Preston has a massive one? IDGI.
I absolutley love that lipstick. It looks stunning! Xx
ReplyDeleteMy GOODNESS that shade looks amazing on you! I want that lippie...now! I love Dita, she is so sexy and fierce!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much lovely :) yes me too it makes me want milky skin and a teeny tiny body just like ditas haha :)
DeleteBeautiful!! But, the lipstick I'm trying to find is the one called Maitresse, code 628, this one is WONDERFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) ah are you having no luck?
DeleteIt lasts to me one store to look at, wish me luck!! :P
