Now I have a lot of love for Nars Cosmetics but sadly the Arabian Nights trio was not one of their better products, yes the shades looked truly stunning in pan form but swatched/applied they were pretty much
lack lustre and not worth the hefty price tag.
Well today I have a beautiful alternative that is more affordable than the original
and packs a punch in terms of colour pay off!

I rather like the packaging of the Eyetouch Trios, they are encased within transparent cases
but they do so without appearing cheap or tacky. The cases are plastic but well made and sturdy,
they also allow you to see at a glance the shades held within. I should mention that each trio comes with
a small brush applicator, I wouldn't really recommend using it but it is a step up from a foam style applicators
that most palettes of this kind tend to feature.

The Eyetouch trios come in nine various colour combinations, each trio is constructed of three co-ordinating shades so they take the guess work out of creating beautiful eye looks.
The Eyetouch palettes consist of two metallic tones and one "Blingtone" which is essentially a glitter based
eyeshadow so you get a great range of formulas per palette!

As mentioned the palette I have to share is a brilliant alternative to Nars Arabian Nights and is simply dubbed "Purple Haze" as the name would suggest it is a medley of purple shades each varying in tone.
Purple Haze consists of a mid duo chrome plum shade that reflects slightly pink, a "Blingtone" option that is the lightest shade of the trio and features an abundance of silver glitter particles and lastly a deep midnight plum tone.

The texture of each shadow is firm to the touch yet finely milled and well pigmented.
Truthfully the "Blingtone" shade is the weaker of the trio and doesn't provide quite the same level of colour pay off as the other two shades but it can be layered on to provide a more pigmented finish, it does so without caking and although it is glitter based it is not gritty nor does it irritate the eyes.
I did not experience any product fall out from the trio and that includes the glitter option, each shade applies well and blended with ease.

In terms of wear the non glitter based shades wore for around 5 hours un-primed and close to 9 with primer, the "Blingtone" was a little less with just under 4 hours before it began to crease without primer and with
it was around the 7 hour mark.

I really did enjoy testing this trio and can see myself purchasing a few more variations in the future namely the Solar Sisters and Band of Gold options...me and my neutrals eh!
