You may recall that I reviewed a lipstick by Natural Collection and was less than impressed - link
but I really do hate to write off an entire collection based on one product
so I purchased a few other items in the hope of perhaps stumbling upon a star product.
Today I have a blush from the line to put to test!
Much like the aforementioned lipstick this comes packaged in white plastic packaging
unlike said lipstick it does have a transparent screw off lid that rather than cheapen the over all look
it breaks up the white plastic and makes it much more aesthetically pleasing.
The blush most definitely seems much more sturdy than the lipstick
and I do not feel that it will remove itself from the casing any time soon!
Pink Cloud is a light almost dusky pink hue.
It has an ever slight blue undertone and leans cool in pan form.
Yet once I swatched it, it took on a medium dusky pink brown tone...most odd!
None the less it is a pretty shade that should it suit your skin tone
would make a lovely natural every day shade, perfect for work/school etc.
The closest shade dupe wise is Mac Well Dressed in pan form
and swatched on my skin it reminded me more of Mac Mocha.
The formula is not on par with a top end blush it most definitely feels lower end drug store to me
and I don't mean that in a snobbish manner, I'm simply stating what I guess to be the obvious?
Don't get me wrong the powder is well pressed and presented but you do experience fall out.
I found the blush to have a high talcum scent and to feel really chalky and dry.
It blended reasonably well but felt heavy and cakey on my skin so for that reason alone
I do not recommend building this shade up as it will surely cake and look horrid.
The pigmentation is surprisingly okay and would more than suffice on light/medium skin shades
if you have a deep complexion I would recommend testing the shade before purchasing
as I fear it may turn ashen on such skin tones.
In terms of wear Pink Cloud managed around 6 hours before fading which is fairly average.
Product Summary
Round Up - A dusky pink blush that leans slight brown once swatched.
Best For - In terms of skin tone I'd say light-medium and best for a back up type of product.
Pigmentation - (6/10) Not ground breaking nor is it terrible.
Availability - £1.99 from Boots stores only.
I am a huge fan of this blush!! I find it just gives me the right amount of rosyness!!! Xx
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it worked so well for you :)
DeleteI use this on a rotation with Natural Collection's Peach Melba on a daily basis and I love it. I honestly don't find it cakey, and I do pile it on occasionally to avert looking ghostly x
ReplyDeleteIt may be my skin type but after a few layers it yielded rather cakey and powdery :(
Deleteomg believe it or not.. i bought this same blush a few days back! and you're right.. the colour looks strange on the skin! i wanted a bright pink tone but it gives me an almost-bronzer colour! and its no different to my #15 rose eclat by Bourjois either btw.
ReplyDeleteI think it maybe because we are both fairly golden toned as it seems to be pink on everyone else bar us haha! Ah great thanks for the heads up I shall skip that shade!
Deleteyeapp i think so!
DeleteA pretty colour! I'd really like to try a blusher by them...more so the much talked about Peach Melba! xx
ReplyDeleteI have that upcoming soon :)
DeleteFunny you should say that about Mac's Mocha as I reviewed that today and when I saw your swatch I thought it looked a lot like Mocha! Great review xx
ReplyDeleteThank you lovely :) I have Mocha and I have to say it is one of my favourite blushes :)
DeleteI have Peach Melba from the Natural Collection and love it, how ever the colour does come off different to how it looks in the pan! Also they break very easily so I would watch out for that :) xx
ReplyDeleteYou are very right they do swatch rather differently, thank you for the heads up :)
DeleteYou should try Peach Melba from this blush line, i have it and it's gorgeous :)
ReplyDeletexxx
I have that coming up soon :)
DeleteI like to use a blush from this range, I think it's called Rosy Glow it's very pretty but I find that they break up quite easily!
ReplyDeletex

DeleteI have a couple of these blushes but they could do with replacing to be honest might whip them out and have a play around with them x
ReplyDeleteHave fun lovely :)
DeleteI do own a blush from this range, but I'm not particularly impressed with it. Lovely review :)! xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree :) they are a tad mediocre aren't they?
Deletethe blush is really pretty. I love the shade :)
ReplyDeleteI have this blush and think it's fab for the price but it does have a few cons! X
ReplyDeleteI have heard a lot about the blushers in this range I will have to check them out :) great review!
ReplyDeleteD: Another miss. I can even see that it's a bit talc and chalky. How disappointing!
ReplyDeleteThis is my back up blusher, I do kind of like Natural Collection mainly for the price. I use the tinted moisturiser even though its more of a foundation consistency. But I really like it as a product! Im so cheap though, rather than real blusher I'm using an old pink eyeshadow! But its just the right amount of shimmer for me (I justify to myself haha)

I have tried this too! It's quite nice :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a fan of blush either.
xoxo.
Ohh dear! I hate chalky blushes. Shame the shade once swatched isn't closer to what's in the pan. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a Natural Collection blush in Peach Melba and thought the formula was fairly impressive for the price. You've got me wanting to try this shade too now! x

You should definitely try the Natural Collection eyeshadows. They're £1.79 each and are actually very good quality. I have the colours 'Crushed Walnut' which is a matte, cool brown shade - almost a dupe for MAC's 'Mystery' or 'Brun' and in 'Sea Shell' which is similar to MAC's 'Vanilla'. xx
