Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau de Toilette

There's a new Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrance in town and it truly is love and first sight - and sniff!

At some point in our lives, I am all but sure we have had a dalliance or two with at least one incantation of the Marc Jacobs Daisy franchise? At 17 I first fell for the sweet violet trails of the original Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette before slowly but surely, trying just about every Daisy inspired launch that followed in quick concession. In some shape or form we have all been enticed by Ms Daisy's charm and I think I know why; past floral heavy fragrances were not marketed to a younger demographic, and as such Daisy felt like a very new and modern fragrance path - a trail blazer if you will.

Well get ready to experience the same giddy excitement and instant affection you felt for the original Daisy, as the newly launched Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau de Toilette is a present-day classic in the making. Marc Jacobs Daisy Love oozes femininity, feels almost ethereal and frankly is effortlessly cool, all the while side-stepping away from the original note composition. I'm not quite sure how Marc Jacobs have managed the seemingly impossible in creating a completely different scent, that is in no way reminiscent of the first Daisy launch, and yet in every way possible it couldn't be more on brand if it tried - it truly is something to behold.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau de Toilette

Typically summer and beach inspired fragrances all share a similar composition - a sweet base that is more often than not. laced with tinges of coconut to conjure images of cocktails and sun lotion. Seldom is inspiration drew from the softness of powdery sand, gentle yet salty waves and the unexpected depth of driftwood much less youthful, soft and gently warming at the same time. No Marc Jacobs Daisy Love isn't the sun-drenched fruity concoction, you may expect to see at this time of the year, rather it is the quiet revolution that all but demands you reconsider the very definition of ready-to-wear Summer fragrances.

Although officially pushed as a fruity-floral fragrance, this whispers rather than shouts with a delicate symphony of complimentary notes. Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau de Toilette combines the tender yet ripe aroma of sweet cloudberries, subtle daisy tree petals and sparkling cashmere musks and driftwood, for a scent that feels instantly familiar and yet undiscovered at the same time.

It is a new era for Marc Jacobs Daisy and I for one welcome it with open arms.
