Lipsticks that is.
Nothing like a little click bait to see you through Thursday and into the weekend huh? All jokes aside, I am seriously stuck in a rut - a nude lipstick rut no less. You see I am very much a nude lipstick kinda gal and yet all my usual go to shades suddenly don't seem all that flattering: MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick is suddenly too pink toned, MAC Whirl Lip Liner is too deep and MAC Honeylove Lipstick is now too yellow. I know what you are thinking, maybe step away from MAC lipsticks for a while? I fully concur.
Other relied upon nudes in my collection include: Charlotte Tilbury Nude Kate Lipstick - too pale, Tom Ford Nude Vanille Lipstick - really too light and a poor choice on my part, Tom Ford Sable Smoke Lipstick- maybe when I'm tanned this will be a great shade but at the moment it just looks off, and I can't quite put my finger on it. I'm also partial to YSL Rouge Volumpte Lipstick in Nude Beige which is a great pinky-nude that looks great when I'm really blonde, but at the moment it is just a little meh! As is Urban Decay Liar Lipstick, another pinky nude that is usually very flattering and yet I'm currently finding it difficult to get excited about.
The budget choices that I have at home are no less helpful nor flattering: Rimmel Nude Delight Lipstick - too yellow toned and NYX Nude Matte Lipstick is so pale that I may as well just apply concealer to my lips and call it a day.
So where next? I really don't know, I know what I want: a creamy, non-matte, medium toned nude lipstick that leans slightly pink. I don't care if it is budget or high end, I just want a shade that I can slick on any time, anywhere and know it looks great.
Do you have any recommendations? And generally speaking what is your go to nude lipstick of choice?
