I have an oily complexion with enlarged pores so as you can imagine, I more than know my way around a primer or two. I may own my fair share of primers but it has been a long while since anything truly made me sit up and notice, well that was until last week when I began trialling Deciem Hylamide HA Blur Prismatic Blurring Surface Hydrator Primer - a mouthful yes but as the title suggests, one of the best primers I have ever tried.
Yes, yes the packaging of the Deciem Hylamide HA Blur Prismatic Blurring Surface Hydrator Primer did sucker me in somewhat - bold, pretty with a Pantone-esque vibe but along with looking great, it is beyond practical. The soft-squeeze style tube with a nifty swing cap means that not only is there next to no mess nor waste, and that dispensing the primer couldn't be easier either - perfect when you are bleary eyed in the morning. As an added bonus the tube is extra lightweight and only 30ml so it suitable for all forms of travel - yes, even stashing inside your carry-on bag.
Now strap yourself in because this is a long one but worth the read (and maybe even the wait) - Deciem Hylamide HA Blur Prismatic Blurring Surface Hydrator is a little different from your typical primer as it is formulated with Hyaluronic Acid in powder form to both hydrate and blur imperfections. As I said bear with me. The idea is that the Hyaluronic Acid forms tiny little prism spheres which refract light and of course lock in moisture - I realise this sounds nuts but it truly works, and is one of the few primers that is suitable for drier complexions too. If that is not enough it plumps, visibly minimises pore size and weirdly has an almost apple peel fragrance - fresh and not at all offensive to the senses or complexion for that matter.
Deciem Hylamide HA Blur Prismatic Blurring Surface Hydrator Primer has a soft, thick gel-like texture that is cooling and hydrating all at once. It is quickly absorbed (yes even on oily skin) and does not interfere with make-up wear, it is so compatible with make-up that you can even apply it over foundation (or even into bases) should you wish. On the skin it is so lightweight, you will not feel it on the skin unlike typical silicone heavy formulations and yet it perfectly blurs, smooths and perfects in one quick step. The Hylamide HA Blur Primer effortlessly resurfaces the skin, filling any enlarged pores, fine lines and creating as-near-as-humanly possible perfect canvas as you can imagine. For those like myself who have oily skin and are worried that the additional moisture of the Hyaluronic Acid will overwhelm the skin, I can vouch this is not the case - it is light and gentle, yet should quench even the driest of complexions. The down side is that I don't find Deciem Hylamide HA Blur Prismatic Blurring Surface Hydrator to be all that mattifying, it does however help lock make-up in place, resulting in prolonged wear. Magic.
If you are fed up of heavy, silicone based primers and want something refreshing, nourishing and skin perfecting, look no further than Deciem Hylamide HA Blur Prismatic Blurring Surface Hydrator. It really is a revelation.

This sounds great! I bought the Korean moisturiser you recommended and had the worst allergic reaction to it that im scared to try anything new. Im worried it Hyaluronic acid is the culprit :(
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm so sorry, I would say skip this just to be safe - I don't want you breaking out again!
DeleteI've tried something similar before that has the texture like lidocaine cream.....and my combination skin really didn't like it and I found makeup just didn't sit on it right....might have to try this one though.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a product worth to try! ^_^

Oh my.. I like the sound of this as well. I literally buy everything with some version of the word "hyaluronic acid" on the label (and that's why Filorga is my favourite brand).. Have to travel abroad to get this one though, but I'll definetly remember it when the time comes.

I have this primer and use it on my dry skin, where it also works wonders! I love the entire Hylamide range

I absloutely LOVE Deciem Hylamide products! I have yet to try this primer but everything else in the line has been a hit for my daily skincare!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently trying this out, and I'd definitely agree it's one of the best primers I've used. My skin (and makeup) dont get on with a lot of primers and the inclusion of Hyaluronic Acid in this is genius. I'm liking the direction lots of brands are taking with primers/skincare, older style primers are just a bit rubbish really xx
ReplyDeleteThis sounds SO SO good, like the blur and hydrating combo I've needed since my skin changed!

It sounds great. I have dry skin and I;m always weary when a primer says its a one size fits all because I try then get dried out. Never heard of this brand either. will be doing more research on this for sure. thanks!

Seeing as I too have oily, acne-prone skin with large pores, what foundation would you recommend that has a natural finish, but still has medium-full coverage?
ReplyDeleteI'm such a sucker for nice packaging haha! This sounds lovely, I'm in need of a new primer too.
