Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer

Origins are synonymous with face masks, as a matter of a fact I am told that they are the best selling face mask brand in the UK. Now if any company is able to change the face of masks it is Origins, they haven't quite reinvented the wheel with their newest launch but it is so simple yet clever you'll be left wondering why no-one has thought of it before. Yes a mask primer, Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer.

I'm not going to focus any attention on the packaging of Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer - it is pretty enough and serves a purpose, that's really all you need to know in this case. What I do what to mention is the spray nozzle: a super fine jet that will not soak your face nor surroundings, and yet delivers more than enough product each and every time. If you have ever been drenched by a facial mist then you will more than appreciate this aspect - it's the little things that help make a product great.

Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer

As you've most likely guessed Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer is indeed a pre-treatment, a facial mist in which you apply to clear skin before popping on your mask. It is the perfect partner to any face mask of your choosing (including sheet masks and sleep masks) but is not recommend for use with a peel-off mask. Basically this super fine mists not only prepares your skin for a facial treatment but along with offering additional moisture (Marine Algae Complex), it soothes and softens the skin, and encourages the mask to work that little bit harder.

For me it has come in handy in regards to sleep masks; as someone with overly oily skin I often find that sleep and/or hydrating masks aren't fully absorbed by my skin, rather they sit on the surface of my face and do next to nothing. A few quick mists (and experiments) of Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer and I can happily vouch this is not the case, my skin laps up the additional and often needed hydration and instantly looks plumper.

Admittedly this is a product I did think was a little gimmicky until trying for myself (sorry Origins) but it does transform masks: I find with clay based masks it encourages them to cleanse a little deeper and with sheet masks my skin laps up more of the serum than before. As an added bonus there is no reason that you couldn't use the Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer as a facial mist if in a jam.

Do you need Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer? Probably not but I am convinced that once you try it out for yourself there will be no turning back.

I wonder where the evolution of facial mask technology will take us next?
