Jo Malone Orris and Sandalwood Cologne Intense

A New Year, a new Jo Malone fragrance and trust me when I say I have not fallen this hard for a Jo Malone launch in a long while. I imagine once Jo Malone Orris and Sandalwood Cologne fully launches, it will be all the beauty world can talk about and for very good reason too.

Don't let the fact that the newest fragrance addition is a part of Jo Malone's Cologne Intense range put you off, nor the black, striking packaging - this is not a strong, overpowering scent, rather the term refers to the scents lasting power. As with all Jo Malone Intense Colognes, the Orris and Sandalwood cologne lingers on the skin for hours, gently fading and soften as the hours tick by.

As you may have guessed Jo Malone Orris and Sandalwood Cologne, is of course a blend of Orris and Sandalwood - soft, powdery, almost musky and slightly woody. To ensure it is not overwhelming nor too heavy, Jo Malone Orris and Sandalwood features a sugary-sweet, top note of Violet that is oddly calming. If like myself you enjoy scents that are Violet tinged and/or difficult to place, and pretty much impossible to duplicate, you need to purchase Jo Malone Orris and Sandalwood Cologne - it is as simple as that. This is a suit all fragrance, totally unisex, that is light and fresh enough for the Spring months yet warming and familiar for the currently cold weather. Divine.

I'm not sure everyone will agree but I although the notes are not at all similar, Jo Malone Orris and Sandalwood Cologne reminds me ever-so-slightly of a more floral and deeper version of Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamom Cologne - perhaps it is because they are both fairly powdery and dusky, who knows? All I know is that this is one Jo Malone fragrance you don't want to pass up on.
