Lottie London Soap Star Brush Cleanser

You know the drill: you have a trip planned - a good few days away from home, maybe even weeks and you need a selection of make-up brushes at your beck and call. You may also want to keep your brushes clean and if you can avoid it, not weigh down your suitcase and of course avoid any unwanted liquid spillages. Technically speaking, solid brush cleansers aren't all that new but one worthy of your attention and hard earned cash is the Lottie London Soap Star Brush Cleanser.

Before I share why I am enjoying the Lottie London Soap Star Brush Cleanser, let me explain exactly what a solid brush cleaner is. As you can see from the above image, the Lottie London Soap Star Brush Cleanser is probably best described as a fancy bar of soap, a bar of soap that comes complete with it's own storage device. What you can't really see as the glare off of the snow has really affected my photos, is that at the bottom of the brush cleanser box is a coarse piece of sponge. This rough addition adds grip and stops the bar from slipping around while in use - something I have never seen before. Anyway using a solid brush cleanser couldn't be easier: simply dampen your brush, swirl around the cake of cleanser, rinse the brush and repeat if necessary. After each use, you should dry down the cleanser and packaging it comes within to prevent mould etc, other than that it couldn't be quicker, easier nor more fuss free if it tried.

So what sets Lottie London Soap Star Brush Cleanser aside from the others? Well first of all this is very reasonably priced at £6.99, keep in mind that unlike a liquid soap this will not spill or leak and could easily last a year or so, even with continued use. Rather importantly it does a stellar job of not only removing product build up (including foundation stains), as well as generally refreshing any well used beauty tool - I swear by it for cleaning make-up sponges/beauty blenders. If that is not enough, the Lottie London Soap Star Brush Cleanser is not overly scented - it is infused with coconut and shea butters to prevent brush bristles from drying out, and is 100% vegan. What is not to like?
