Maybelline Winter Baby Lips Lip Balms

It's not exactly a secret within the beauty world that Maybelline Baby Lips aren't the best lip balms out there but they are fairly cheap, presented in a fun way (well at least I think so) and do a fairly decent job of moisturising the lips. I think as long as you don't expect too much from the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms, you won't be too disappointed, if you are a fan the good news is that there is three new, festive options to select from or collect.

So what should you expect from Maybelline Baby Lips formulation in general (inclusive of the new scent additions)? They are a fairly firm balm that oddly glides onto the lips, they feel light, almost wet and offer a somewhat glossy sheen. The complete opposite of what you'd imagine. Maybelline do claim that Baby Lips offer up 8 hours of hydration, sadly I am afraid that it is not case it is closer to 2 hours. The real problem is that they wear off quickly and when they do any hydrating benefits are lost, then again at under £3 each I doubt anyone was expecting miracles. As to be expected the ingredients are pretty basic and include vitamin E, aloe, honey, shea butter and in some instances SPF of 20. I should also mention that the entire Baby Lips collection lists as petroleum as an ingredient, which would explain why there is no real lasting benefits of applying this particular lip balm. In case you didn't know, the main problem with Petroleum is that it tends to only mask the problem of dry skin, it essentially acts as a barrier rather than repairing and over time, said ingredient make dry skin worse not better.

The three new Maybelline Winter Baby Lips, which I am assuming are limited edition are:

Maybelline Baby Lips Hot Cocoa - your standard chocolate like fragrance coupled with a light, shimmering nude tint. On my lips this translates to an almost frosted finish which admittedly does appear a little dated.

Maybelline Baby Lips Sugar Cookie - a pale, almost chalky pink tint coupled with a sprinkle of glitter and a cupcake-esque fragrance.

Maybelline Baby Lips Sweet Apple - a sweet, typical red apple scent that is not your typical festive scent and the most pigmented of the bunch. If like myself you fear red lip products of any type this could be the shade that eases you in.

At the moment, I can not find the Maybelline Winter Baby Lips Lip Balms online but you can pick them up in store via Superdrug for £2.99 each. I also believe that they are part of an ongoing 3 for 2 offer.
