Collection #BlushandGo Palette Review

If there is one brand you should re-visit it is Collection (formerly Collection 2000), particularly the new professional range, which offers an array of beautifully composed and formulated palettes. If I could recommend one product it would be the newly launched Collection #BlushandGo Palette, an array of well chosen contouring, highlighting and blush products. This co

I do feel that the biggest criticism of the Collection #BlushandGo Palette will be the packaging, understandably not everyone is a huge fan of cardboard outers for various reasons - it doesn't age all that well, isn't overly sturdy and is not at all waterproof. On the plus side it is extremely light weight making it both easy to store and transport. Despite being roughly the size of the palm of my handIf you can look past the cardboard packaging I promise this is a wonderful palette and one that deserves a place within your collection.

As you can see there is four well sized pans of pressed powder within the Collection #BlushandGo Palette: two blushes, a shimmering highlighter and a matte bronze. The shade selection somewhat reminds me of the numerous NARS Blush Palettes that have been launched over the years. For all your contouring needs (well if you have a light to medium complexion at least) there is a cool, almost olive toned matte bronzer that is not too dissimilar from NARS Laguna Bronzing Powder. To inject a little radiance there is a light, yellow toned ivory, glitter based highlighting powder which admittedly is a little stark and best applied with a light hand. As variety is the spice of life, the Collection #BlushandGo Palette contains two blushes: a light, dusky matte peach which isn't worlds apart from MAC Melba blush, as well as a bright, pink come coral that features a golden sheen - a great alternative to NARS Orgasm Blush.

At just £4.99 you would be forgiven for assuming that the formulation of the Collection #BlushandGo Palette may not be up to scratch - I know I did. Well rather impressively (much like the colour selection), all three out of the four powders are soft, finely milled, well pigmented and easy to apply/blend. The highlighter is a little drier in texture and as such a little more trickier to apply, I recommend a large, tapered and fluffy brush and a little patience. I also wouldn't recommend the highlighter for use on enlarged pores; it has a tendency to settle into the pores and only further draw attention to the problem. Other than such issue, I have no gripes (I'm getting soft in my old age ha): an affordable, well thought out palette, that features four face powders that when combined with a primer do tend to wear for around 7 to 8 hours on oily skin.

I can truthfully say that this is one of the best budget cheek palettes I have tested in a long while.
