5 Budget Eyeshadows for Blue Eyes

I'm all about making the most of what you have, I may not have the best shaped eyes nor the prettiest but they are easy to enhance in terms of colour. As you may have guessed I have blue eyes, almost turquoise to be exact that really come to life with warm, orange or pink toned eyeshadows. Orange is the opposite colour within the colour wheel to blue eyes, any shade with such undertone will enhance blue tones and give the optical illusion of bluer eyes. With that in mind I have rifled through my stash and found, five of the best budget options the UK high street has to offer. Blue eyed wonders take note...

Seventeen Eye Eye Shadow in Funfair
I thought I'd begin with my most used eyeshadow ever, I have replaced (and lost) more pans of Seventeen Eye Eye Shadow in Funfair than I care to count. A pretty copper toned pink that has is densely packed with shimmer. This may put some of but rest assure the shimmer particles are small, refined and as such, helps to open and brighten the eye. It is beautifully pigmented and a dream to blend out. The best way I can describe the orange, tinged peach come pink is to compare it to NARS Orgasm Blush, the main difference is that this is a little lighter in tone and ever so slightly muted. I see no reason why that this couldn't double up as a blush. I personally use this as an all over wash of colour and finish with a quick slick of mascara - nice and easy. The blend of copper and pink really draws out the blue within any eye colour making this a great choice not only for blue eyes but also hazel and green blue shades too.

L'Oreal Colour Riche L'Ombre Pure Eyeshadow in Pin Up Pink
Another pinky peach toned eyeshadow that adds a little extra somethin', somethin' to the eye area is L'Oreal Colour Riche L'Ombre Pure Eyeshadow in Pin Up Pink. Very similar to the above pink toned eyeshadow only this is a little paler and more peach toned and free from shimmer particles. Rather L'Oreal Colour Riche L'Ombre Pure Eyeshadow in Pin Up Pink is a metallic, soft sheen wash of colour that brightens not only the eye area but oddly the entire face. I find the light pink tone of this eyeshadow oddly disguises signs of fatigue (as well as enhancing blue peppers), and if that is not enough to add it to your basket it can double up as a highlighter or blush.

Natural Collection Eyeshadow in Milk Chocolate
I love Natural Collection Eyeshadow in Milk Chocolate for many reasons: it is utterly affordable, ideal for not only enhancing blue eyes but works well as a transition shade for blending out other eyeshadows. It might also double up as a shade for filling brows in some instances - I haven't personally tried it but I see why no reason why not? At the moment Urban Decay Riff Eyeshadow is very much having a moment within the beauty world; the rusty, orange toned light brown is perfect for both blue and green eyes to enhance and define. Natural Collection Eyeshadow in Milk Chocolate is a close dupe and of course far more affordable. Everyone should give this a whirl.

If you are someone who enjoys options and lots of them, the Miss Sporty Studio Colour Quattro Eye Shadow Palette could be just what you are looking for. As luck would have it the aforementioned palette contains four shades, all of which are ideal for intensifying both blue and green toned eyes. The light pink shade contains just enough of an orange tint to brighten blue eyes, where as the two bronze shades are beautifully natural yet illuminating. Lastly we have a deep, purple come red toned eyeshadow in the disguise of plum which is the perfect evening, smoky shade to intensify blue iris' everywhere.

Rimmel Magnif'eyes Eyeshadow in VIP Pass
Speaking of deeper, smoky and altogether evening ready eyeshadows for blue eyes, if you purchase one deep hue let it be Rimmel Magnif'eyes Eyeshadow in VIP Pass. This rich, almost ruddy yet golden flecked chocolate brown beautifully sets off any blue eyes with ease. It is one of those rare, glitter based shades that would be flat should it not have the additional sparkle. It glides on to the skin with ease, I would go as far as saying it has a buttery soft texture and pigment in abundance. Rimmel VIP Pass is the perfect, one hit wonder in that you don't need any other shade for a striking eye look. Simply blend all over the lid, smoke out around the lash line and apply mascara, maybe even a slick of liner and wait for the compliments to roll in.

If you too have blue eyes, I'd love to hear what shades you rely on when you really want to make them pop - budget or otherwise.
