15 Fun and Affordable Bath and Body Brands to Try

With the long, dark evenings drawing in you may find yourself burning a few candles and soaking in the tub a little more than you would in the warmer weather. Summer is for quick, refreshing showers - the Winter is for deep, bubble filled relaxing baths. I also see the changing seasons as the perfect excuse to try a new bath product or two, with that in mind I have gathered together 15 of my favourite budget yet fun brands to try.

Soap & Glory
A great all round beauty brand; from make up to skin care and even bath and body products, there is not much that Soap & Glory don't offer. I especially rate Soap & Glory's Bath & Shower Gel's, not only are they idea for a quick morning shower but they double up as a lightly foaming, non-irritating bubble bath. With a beautiful assortment of fragrances, all in economical sizing (500ml/£6.50), a bottle of Soap & Glory Bath & Shower Gel belongs in every bathroom. My personal favourite has to be the fruity, almost sherbet like scent of Soap & Glory Orangeasm, be it is body lotion or shower gel form.

Lush
Perhaps the most obvious choice within the list; I know some don't deem bath time a success if there is not at least one Lush product involved. Be it a beautifully scented bath bomb - that fizz, whirl and tint the water, or a skin softening bath melt, Lush offer it all. For those who prefer bubble baths, there is of course Lush Bubble Bars and Lush Shower Gels. Not only are all Lush products cruelty free but there is a great selection for Vegans too - the real problem with Lush is deciding how much you can carry home and what will your bank balance will allow.

Asda
A surprise addition but do not to overlook Asda own brand produce, the two ranges I highly recommend checking out are: the own range shower gels - especially the fragrance Retro Rhubarb & Custard (75p) that smells exactly like the sweets of the same name. Much like any shower gel this can be used in the typical sense, or used as a light bubble bath, not too shabby for a product that costs less than £1. If you can look past the childish packaging and product name, Asda Girls R Best Bath and Shower Gel in Strawberry Mallow is one to try. The huge 500ml bottle costs a mere £1 and the sweet, sugary scent is ideal for soaking away Monday blues in the tub, all with oodles of soft bubbles.

Tango
I've went from being actively avoiding the Poundshop (growing up it no-one dared set foot in such shop for fear of being picked on, silly I know), to not being able to pass up the opportunity to snoop within the aisles. It's close to becoming a problem. One of the surprise hits I found while perusing my local branch is Tango Shower Gel. Yes really. I'm a little hooked on Tango Cherry Shower Gel, admittedly it won't be to everyone's taste but if you like strong cherry fragrances it is one to try. I can't help but smile when I inhale the bright, fruity scent - great for kick starting even the dullest of mornings.

Zoella Beauty
Let's forget that this range is not really aimed at adults but don't let that put you off, trying out what is essentially a well priced, beautifully scented and now expansive line up. From fruity candles, to bubble baths and my personal favourite the Zoella Fizz Bars - large breakable bath fizzers. Some may find it surprising but I truly have only been impressed by the Zoella Beauty collection, if I was a teen it is all that would be in my bathroom. Great value and easily found within both Superdrug and Feel Unique.

Beauticology
If you are on a budget and want a do it all, fun and fruity scented body wash that is kind on the skin , all the while in a huge, long lasting 500ml size then Beuticology is one to try. Easily found in Supermarkets such as Morrisons, the large pump dispenser style of Beauticology products not only brighten up any shower or dip in the bath but are a breeze to use when wet and slippery.

Treacle Moon
I like to think of Treacle Moon as a somewhat budget friendly alternative to Philosophy bath and body products. Much like Philosophy the best selling and raved about product range is their bath and shower gels - think fun, food and sweet inspired blends that are a joy to use, all the while being gentle on the skin. Unlike Philosophy the Treacle Moon Bath and Shower Gels don't double up as a shampoo but really who washes their hair with their shower gel anyway?

Anatomicals
A great all round beauty brand, that offer fun and effective bath, body and facial products. From fruity body scrubs, zesty shower gels and a whole array of facial masks and treats, all presented in fun, slogan adorned packaging. At £5 for a bottle of foam bath, it may seem a little steep but as it is so concentrated, a little truly goes a long way. You can find Anatomicals via ASOS - link.

Original Source
King of shower gels, with each formula featuring natural oils and real fruit extracts the formulation truly feels luxurious, all for the budget price of under £2 - making them great every day essentials. If there is a fruity based scent you have dreamed of, you can bet Original Source will offer it. Unlike other shower gels, I find that the Original Source formulation is deeply cleansing yet gentle, so much so, that out of all the products mentioned within this post, this is the brand I'd be tempted to use as a shampoo.

Imperial Leather
Forget the large bars of soap your Grandmother had in every bathroom, Imperial Leather have recently launched an entire range of fun and dare I say cutesy shower gels. From Marshmallow scents to the beloved Fruit Salad variety, there really is something for everyone and at just under £2 a bottle you can afford to collect them all.

The Body Shop
Often forgot and not always deemed budget friendly but if you focus on the core collection of bath and body products, offered within The Body Shop you may be pleasantly surprised. With every fruity scent imaginable under one roof, and broad product ranges such as scrubs, body butters and cleansers there is something to please everyone and every budget. I do tend to stock up on the Strawberry scent, particularly in the Summer - it is so cheery and long wearing. As a side note keep your eyes peeled for the limited edition seasonal scent launches too.

N-Spa
Fun, fruity scented bath products that include bath and shower gels, scrubs and body butters that smell good enough to eat, all the while being easily found within the aisles of Asda. The next time you do your food shop (A.K.A the big shop), sneak a few products into the cart and enjoy. Heck it might even make such mundane task a little more tolerable. As a side note, my personal favourite fragrance from N-Spa is Blueberry - it reminds me of blue slush drinks. Yum.

Dolly's Mixtures
Another Asda find, believe it or not I do tend to food shop in Morrisons but I would say that ASDA is better for beauty finds. Riveting, I know. Dolly Mixtures is a brand I've only just become acquainted with, if you enjoy cocktail scented bath and body products it should be your next port of call. I'm a little obsessed with Dolly's Mixtures Pina Colada Shower Gel, it smells exactly like the cocktail of the same name, all without the hangover the next day.

Bomb Cosmetics
An often overlooked brand but one you owe it to yourself to browse the website at least once. Personally I recommend trying out Bomb Cosmetics Bath Blasters (bath bombs)- you'll be hard pushed, to find more intricately decorated bath products for such an affordable price. Truly some are mini art works, so much so,  it may pain you to pop one in the bath. Although not technically a bath product (then again some of us do enjoy a little bath time ambience) I recommend checking out Bomb Cosmetics Candles - again gloriously presented with an intense scent throw. I can't get enough.

Superdrug
I rate Superdrug's own brand product range over Boots and any other rival competitors too, for that matter. From fun, novelty scents to every day fruit based fragrances, spread across all aspects of body care including: shower gels, body lotions, butters and hair care products - there really is no range more varied within this post than Superdrug's offerings. As an added bonus most products within the collection cost less than £2 and are often within 3 for 2 offers too.

Have I missed out any other must try fun yet affordable bath and body brands?
