Jo Malone Shower Oil Review

You know a bathing product is great when you start making excuses to pop into the shower to use it. Since I purchased Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Shower Oil it is all I have thought about; the scent, the texture and the way it leaves my skin both cleansed and softened in one quick step. At £32 a bottle (ouch) I did begrudgingly hand over my bank card but I can honestly say it is the best luxurious purchase I have made in a long while. No regrets what so ever, well other than the fact it has me coveting the other fragrances within the Jo Malone Shower Oil Collection. As I said, they are just that good.

The Jo Malone Shower Oils are exactly what you expect from a shower oil and more; a luxurious oil base which is constructed from Sunflower Seed, Jojoba and Coconut oils so that it is light, silken and of course deeply nourishing in one quick step. Unlike other shower oils this does not feel greasy nor sticky on the skin, rather it glides on offering instant comfort. You have two application options; you can apply to dry skin to really enjoy the sensory benefit of the oil base (this is a great product to combine with dry body brushing) or apply to damp skin, in which the shower oil evolves into a soft, cleansing milk texture. Both methods work equally well, I guess it all boils down to time and preference. The good news is that due to the blend of high quality natural oils within this shower product should you be pressed for time you can skip body moisturising, I find Jo Malone Shower Oils lock in moisture leaving my skin feeling soft, supple and hydrated.

Three of Jo Malone's best selling fragrances have been adapted into shower oil form: Lime, Basil & Mandarin (a great unisex choice), Blackberry & Bay and Peony & Blush. I of course selected Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Shower Oil - it is bright, punchy nd fruity yet rich at the same time (it kinda reminds me of jam and warm desserts but in a good way, of course), ideal for all year round use which is super important when you pay £32 for a bottle! The scent lingers on my skin for hours after use yet never overwhelms and is generally a joy to use and wear, I find that Blackberry & Bay compliments most of my fragrance choices too.

If you add one new shower product to your bathroom this year let it be a Jo Malone Shower Oil, pricey - yes but oh so worth the splurge.
