Brands such as Feel Unique are making it more and more difficult for beauty lovers like myself to complain, they are doing seemingly the impossible in making once hard to come by brands accessible. The latest brand to reach UK shores is Collistar an iconic Italian company that specialise in skin care but also cater to our hair, body and SPF needs.
After a little digging around, I'm not nearly as clued up on international beauty brands as I should be, it turns out the Collistar is the No.1 rated beauty brand in Italy. Collistar was founded in 1983 and offer a scientific approach to skin care, they seek out the best developments in skin care technology and apply it to their products. The brand ethos is luxury, results driven yet affordable - how can you argue or not be intrigued by that?
At the moment I am a little overwhelmed by the variety of products on offer by Collistar, to the point I really don't know where to start or what to order. At the moment I am trying out Collistar Brightening Cleansing Foam - quick, easy and oddly refreshing - it cools and calms, due to the Aloe Vera addition. I don't typically like anything that foams but this is not in the slightest drying, removes all my make up with ease and has been formulated for the first signs of ageing. Yes I'm in my twenties and pretty much line free (I have a few frown lines from over practising the Rock's People's Eyebrow as a child - if you know, you know) but I do believe prevention is better than a cure. If you like a quick acting cleanser that perks the skin up yet deeply cleanses, this is one to try.
Other than that Collistar is a complete mystery to me. If you have any Collistar reviews or product pointers or mere suggestions, please let me know. I'm rather intrigued by this brand and would like to add a few more products to my stash.
Go on enable me for once, tell me what the hits and perhaps even the misses of Collistar - I want to add a little Italian flair and sophistication to my bathroom shelf.
You can shop Collistar exclusively with the UK via Feel Unique.

Im italian and i know collistar pretty well. I would not say its the best rated brand in italy (kiko is). Their skincare is not bad but doesnt work that much. Their foundation shades are off. their lip line is dated and not very innovative, as are their eye products. Body: just lotions that are supposed to make you slim but clearly dont work miracles. Hair: bad really bad.
ReplyDeleteso to me theres not much to be excited about. to me anyway.

Thank you so much Angela, I really appreciate your honesty :) I do like Kiko but the UK website is a little hit and miss, and we don't have a physical store here in Scotland so I don't really keep up with the brand. I've just read a few comments below about Pupa and now it is all I can think about ha!
DeleteI haven't heard about this brand before, would really love to read more about their products as the commenter above me has mentioned that their products don't work well (?).

I've not heard of this brand but it sounds interesting! I do really love how Beauty Bay & Feel Unique etc are making international beauty more accessible to us and still offer free shipping over £10 (!!). Laughed at the Rock's Eyebrow comment - I know all about that hahaha. I'm not above practising it now and I'm 21! xxx

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Collistar before (if I can't get it in the UK I'm afraid I'm ignorant to it) but it does sound like a pretty good brand. I just had a look at some of their products on Feel Unique and the Protective Oil Spray for Coloured Hair seems to be something I need. Why do I have the feeling this brand is going to be bad for my bank balance?

As an Italian who has just moved to the UK, I am so excited about this! I love Collistar, especially their blushes and highlighters. They are so smooth and blend like a dream. The nail polishes are pretty good too.
ReplyDeleteLove the layout, looks great!
I have a couple of older nail polishes - they weren't cheap but the colours were lovely
ReplyDeleteDon't know about best rated. At the moment I think Pupa holds that title, as far as Italian beauty stores go, and that's only because Kiko sells in its own stores. The products are not bad, though more on the expensive side. The company's brand has been outdated for so long but for the past year they've been trying to re-brand and come up with new ranges of products to keep up with Pupa and Kiko.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Silvia, I don't think they're the best brand in Italy and honestly if I lived outside of the country I would rather try to get my hands on Pupa.
DeleteI've tried just a few Collistar products and the one I liked more and would repurchase is the Crema abbronzante protezione attiva Spf 30 Pelli ipersensibili (for sensitive skin).
A couple of great organic skincare brands (that really worth to be tried out): Biofficina Toscana, Alkemilla, La Saponaria.
Thank you so much ladies, I guess living in the UK I am pretty oblivious to what is best selling in Italy and what is not (I can only really go by press releases). We used to have Pupa in the UK and for some reason it disappeared - I used to love the fun, cream palettes! Hopefully one day it will come back or I can arrange an Italian beauty swap! Thanks for the recommendations Gra - I will have a good route around on Google tonight!

DeleteHope you had fun on the route ;) [Quick tip: the I'm lipsticks are the b-o-m-b!].
DeleteAnd if you're willing to arrange a swap... bare in mind that I would be interested!
Bye girl!
A swap would be great :) I'd love to take you up on that offer!
DeleteThat's great! Write me an email when you're ready so we can arrange it! Take care!
DeleteThey seem to have products made for sensitive redness prone skin which is exactly what I've got. Would love to try few of their products.
