Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette

We all know and love Zoeva for their brushes (one day I will treat myself to the Rose Golden sets and live happily in pink make-up brush heaven) but don't be so quick to overlook their make-up offerings. I kid you not when I say that the Zoeva eyeshadow formulation is easily one of the best I have ever tried. If you have yet to try the eyeshadows for yourself, perhaps I could tempt you with the new Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette.

The Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette is of course a chocolate lovers dream, the 10 shades have been inspired by not only cocoa dusted truffles but also nougat and marzipan - good enough to eat. The outer packaging has a certain luxury chocolate box feel, thanks to the brown and gold toned colour scheme - it really is a sight to behold. What I like most about Zoeva eyeshadows (formula aside) is the size - each pan is rather large meaning you have room to swirl around even the fluffiest of blending brushes with ease.

A quick note on the overall formula before I give a full shade breakdown below - Zoeva eyeshadows more than pack a punch in terms of pigment. Despite being somewhat firm (they can survive even the most perlious of travel journeys), the overall texture is soft, creamy despite being powder based, intensely pigmented and a dream to blend and apply. If you don't suffer from oily eye lids Zoeve eyeshadows don't really need a primer as they tend to stay in place free from creasing or fading. It pains me to say this but the Zoeva eyeshadow formulation is superior to MAC, as a matter of a fact it could easily give Urban Decay Eyeshadows a run for their money.

The ten shades within the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette are:

Bitterstart - a warm, pink toned matte ivory eyeshadow which is a little chalky and lacking in pigment. It can be used as a matte highlight and/or base colour which lessens the formulation blow.

Sweeter End - a soft, shimmering lilac toned mauve, this has a metallic finish and is somewhat similar to MAC Seedy Pearl eyeshadow in tone.

Warm Notes - perhaps my favourite eyeshadow in the palette, a warm and rich red brown that gleams golden in certain lights. If you enjoy MAC Cranberry eyeshadow this will be right up your alley.

Subtle Blend - again metallic in finish but this time around it is a warm, golden brown; very similar to MAC Bronze eyeshadow.

Beans are White - almost black, deep brown matte eyeshadow.

Pure Ganache - bright, yellow toned golden bronze - metallic in finish and beautifully pigmented.

Substitute for Love - almost matte (satin finish), mid-toned orange based brown that makes just about all eye colours pop.

Freshly Toasted - rich deep brown, with a slightly red toned base; again this is metallic in finish but it does have a lesser sheen quality than the others.

Infusion - darkest brown matte eyeshadow with an abundance of golden glitter, a little dry in texture but a beautiful eyeshadow none the less. You can also apply this damp to create a sparkly eye liner or simply amp up the pigment.

Delicate Acidity - a duo chrome mauve, in some lights this reflects more lilac and in others pink. This duo chrome mauve eyeshadow is a little deeper in tone compared to the above Sweeter End.

I think we can all agree that Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette is a great, neutral yet rich toned eyeshadow palette for all needs, complexions and tastes. At just £15 it is a complete bargain with enough eyeshadows (in various finishes) to take you from day to night. I can not recommend it enough.
