New Aveda Launches

Last week I was lucky enough to be briefed in all things Aveda which of course includes the low down on a number of new products, two of which I am rather excited to share. If softer, thicker hair is what you dream of then look no further...

First up we have Aveda Smooth Infusion Smoothing Masque, which is a miracle worker for thick and wavy hair like my own. Not only does this thick, conditioning treatment deeply nourish the hair and aid repair but it helps to tame frizz (it can reduce up to 50% after one use) and unwanted volume in one quick step. I find that the Aveda Smooth Infusion Hair Care range helps to soften and somewhat straighten out my waves making styling a whole lot easier to boot, as an added bonus it helps to stop humidity ravishing your hair - perfect for warmer climates! Application couldn't be easier, you simply use the Aveda Smooth Infusion Smoothing Masque in place of your regular conditioner once a week (or as often as needed) to reap the benefits. I rather like that is is a quick and easy way to deeply condition (I slather on for fifteen minutes and job is done), not to mention it makes light work of the dreaded de-tangling after each wash. Aveda Smooth Infusion Smoothing Masque is a fairly heavy so I would avoid if you have fine or limp hair but for thick, wavy and generally unruly hair - you are going to wonder what you did before discovering this miracle worker. As someone with thick and super long hair, thickening and or/volumising products are not something I gravitate towards; I do however know a clever and innovative product when I see one. Unlike traditional thickening treatments the new Aveda Thickening Tonic can be used on both dry and wet hair and offers instant results. There is no need to combine this with specially formulated shampoos nor conditioners - simply mist on to the hair and style as normal. It is non-sticky, no greasy and does not offer any form of hold, rather it encourages the hair strands to swell from root to tip for an instantly thickening effect without any damage. It does work best with heat but as mentioned it can be used on dry hair for a quick thickening boost. If you have fine hair that you would like to bulk up temporarily this is what I recommend.
