Tom Daxon Fragrance

Fragrance is so subjective and personal to us all, it has the power to not only create but invoke lasting memories. It is something to be treasured, be that one signature scent you wear daily or a whole array of fragrances that you rotate depending on your mood. If you are looking for something a little more special than the highstreet can deliver and entirely original let me introduce you to the world of Tom Daxon Fragrance.

Tom Daxon Fragrance

As scratch and sniff technology has a long way to go before it hits the world of Google, I think it is fair to say we all look for comparisons in regards to fragrance. Although not associated in way what so ever I liken Tom Daxon Fragrance to the younger, cooler and dare I say it more edgy brother of Tom Ford. Much like Mr.Ford's venture into the world of scent this brand doesn't need to try hard to be enticing or hip, the scents are unlike anything else you will have ever experienced and are entirely unisex - never too floral nor woody. Despite being a huge fan of Tom Ford fragrance I have to give the upper hand to Tom Daxon as the brand has yet to become mainstream, meaning you will not smell five other people in town wearing the same fragrance as you.

I'm not going to recommend one Tom Daxon scent, rather I encourage you to treat yourself to the Tom Daxon Fragrance collection (£45); nine 3ml bottles that allow you to try each stand alone scent within the range without commitment. I agree with the brand, fragrance sound not be rushed!

The nine eau de parfums within the collection are:

  •  Iridium - Notes include Juniper, Angelica, Carrot Seed, Iris, Vetiver, Cedarwood and Iso E Super and said to be the fragrance equivalent of cashmere, a soft, sensual, powdery and almost floral scent that lingers on the skin. Although not identical in any shape or form fans of Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede will enjoy this.
  • Salvia Scalera - With notes of Grass, Green Violet Leaf, Bergamot, Elemi, Clary Sage, Jasmine, Oakmoss, Cashmeran and White Musks, this embodies the warmth and greenery of a care free summer. Very green and very fresh.
  • Cologne Absolute - In my opinion the most demanding scent of the collection and the one I would purchase for a man. A heedy and aromatic blend of Neroli, Bergamot, Tarragon, Green Violet Leaf, Lemon Petitgrain, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Givescone, Patchouli and Cypriol. If you are looking for the equivalent of a power suit or dress within the fragrance world this is it.
  • Crushing Bloom - The only true floral fragrance within the collection, that manages to tick all the boxes you'd expect from such scent category without being predictable. In my opinion this is an Iris strong blend with spicy nuances - totally original and very addictive. The full note blend is: Lily of the Valley, Cardamom, Pink Pepper, Black Pepper, Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Iris, Oakmoss, Vetiver and Silken Musks.
  • Sicilian Wood - Fruity yet woody and aromatic scents are hard to come by, most are overly strong and lean far too masculine for my personal taste, Tom Daxon Sicilian Wood is the game changer. A light yet seductive scent that is clean yet uplifting. This is the one I all but demand you try if given the opportunity. Notes include: Lemon, Tangerine, Bergamot, Cardamom
Gaiac Wood, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Amber, Cedarwood and Sandalwood.
  • Vachetta - in a word? Obsessed! A somewhat smoky and spicy ode to leather that is perfect for evening wear, it really is a sexy scent as cheesy as that may sound. I'll personally stash this away for the cooler weather as I feel that is when it will really come into its own. Notes include: Cardamom, Coriander, Nutmeg, Jasmine, Lapsang Souchong, Gaiac Wood, Leather, and Warm Musks.
  • Reverie - New yet familiar; light, airy and fresh - perfect for the warm weather. Notes include: Artemesia, Rosemary, Ginger, Elemi, Iris, Oudh, Benzoin Siam, Ambroxan and Cypriol.
  • VSOP - A warming, spicy and somewhat sensual scent that engulfs the senses. There couldn't be a more winter ready fragrance. Notes include: Bergamot, Geranium, Cognac, Elemi, Pink Pepper, Black Pepper, Ginger, Cinnamon, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Cashmeran and Warm Musks.
  • Resin Sacra - If you enjoy woody and almost outdoor type scents this is the investment scent for you. Robust yet not overwhelming, sensual yet citrus based. Notes include: Suede, Frankincense, Patchouli, Benzoin Siam, Cistus, Ambroxan, Sandalwood and Vetiver.
For now Tom Daxon fragrances feel like a well kept secret but I assure you that there will come a day when everyone (men and women) aspire to own at least one bottle. At £105/50ml they do not come cheap but sometimes you get what you pay for. I'm currently saving to treat myself to a bottle of Tom Daxon Sicilian Wood and Salvia Scalera - wish me luck and spending restraint ha!
