Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balms

With Summer somewhat in swing you may be on the look out for lighter, more nourishing formulas to add to your make-up bag. The new Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Collection offers up not only a highly nourishing lip colour in the form of Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balm but also a creamy blush - Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Blush Balm. If ever two products were made for warm humid weather it would be this duo! Let's concentrate on the balms first shall we?

Right now I'm enjoying lip balm full stop - tinted or not, it is all good but the more moisturising the better. The Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balm are what you have been waiting for if you enjoy glossy yet non-sticky lip colour that also nourishes the lips. The packaging admittedly is a little dated but I do appreciate not only the sturdy design but the fact that the plastic outers match the lip colour inside - great if you own more than one shade. The bevelled tip of the Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balms make application a breeze - it slots into the lip wonderfully, you could even apply flawlessly without a mirror!

The Bare Minerals Pop of Passion come in eight shades, all of which are universally flattering - I have Pink and Nude. Yes they are pigmented and do have a tendency to stain (not necessarily a negative) but as they are not opaque they do not coat and disguise the natural lip colour, rather they work with it and will create a shade unique to you. For reference Pink is fairly neutral and would be considered to be your typical mid tone dusky pink, Nude is fairly light and has a strong yellow undertone and reminds me a little of MAC Hue lipstick.

The shades may not be what sells you this products but the formula will - it is lighter than air yet deeply moisturising thanks to the infusion of Passionfruit Seed Oil and Vitamin E. The Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balm texture is best described as a super comfortable gel that slicks on with ease and does not have a tendency to slip or bleed. The colour saturation is great - there is no need to apply several layers but they do layer well if that is a concern. As mentioned above the Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balms do have a staining tendency (average wear is around two hours per application) which is great if you don't have time to re-apply a lip product several times a day. I have no idea how it manages to do this without drying the lips but it does - make-up wizardry? I think so!
