Normally I review beauty products but it is not very often that I sit down and share what I am currently testing, combined with a few notes on my initial thoughts. If anything it will give you a glimpse of what is in-store for the coming weeks and of course it gives me a point of comparison, so without further ado here is what I am currently trialling...
All week long I have been wearing a different shade of Essie's latest collection - Essie Peach Side Babe. I will have a full review of each of the five polishes on the blog in the coming week; for now I can say that they more than live up to expectations and the shades Essie Chillato and Essie Salt Water Happy are must haves. You can find the collection in Boots stores (£7.99 per shade) - it has yet to go online.
I can assure you that neither of the two Charlotte Tilbury lip products in the above photo look this pristine now - I took this photo over a week ago and let's just say they are well loved. If you are looking for the perfect Summer coral combination then may I point you towards Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Sexy Sienna and Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pink Venus. Great on their own but doubly magic combined! I've also been testing the new Bourjois Aqua Blushes, at the moment I'm not totally in love - I find the formula a little tricky to blend and don't find the texture to sit well on my skin. It could be a case of switching foundations, which I will of course try but for now I am on the fence.
My sister is the hugest fan of Lottie London brushes, so out of curiosity I also purchased a set. Yes they are easily some of the prettiest brushes I have owned in a long while but do you know what they are great quality too! I've yet to wash them but so far I can vouch that they are super soft and deliver great results. I want to try them for another week or so before posting a full review but so far, so good. You can shop the entire collection here - link.
As a huge fan of Trilogy skin care it only made sense that I venture into their body products, newly added to my showering routine is Trilogy Botanical Body Wash. I rather like the soap dispenser style bottle as it is so easy to use with slippery hands, the scent is lovely and relaxing and the soap free formula doesn't dry out my skin. I think we are on to a winner.
To know me is to know I love a good self tanner, one that firms and adds a luminous glow in one step is a clear winner if you ask me. This week I have been getting to grips with Bliss Hide and Glow Seek - a spray on instant tanner that offers the most natural results. It is completely matte so it perfects the skin and does have an instant cooling and firming action. I am hooked.
If I could only recommend one product from this huge selection it would be Melvita Apicosma Soothing Cream - a light yet rich moisturiser that calms and hydrates even the driest of skin types. I have been using it in place of a night cream and my skin has never felt better - soft, supple and more plump. I can not wait to share a full review of this with you.
The ever famous Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil has now joined my skin care routine, it is really early days (i.e I've only just cracked the bottle open) but so far I can see why this is beloved to many. My skin does appear brighter and the fine lines on my forehead are far less noticeable. I'm going to use it nightly for the next month or so and then report back.
Have you tried anything above? I'd love to hear your thoughts and in some instances application tips.
I love this kind of post as first impressions can be so accurate! I really wanted to try those Bourjois blushes but I might hold off a bit as it doesn't sound like they're that great after all. Those Essie nail polishes look gorgeous though!
