We are now in exam season and there is nothing like stress and a little pressure to restrict a good night's sleep from taking place. Burning the midnight oil and ensuring that all deadlines are made is never easy, nor is switching off for a much needed 10 minutes or so for a little me time - luckily there are a few good products out there to help. A mug of warm milk never hurt either...
As a huge Lush fan I forever have a stash of bath bombs pleading to be used, Lush Twilight Bath Bomb was made for sleepless nights. A heady blend of Lavender, Ylang Ylang and Tonka come together to create a relaxing aroma that will leaving you feeling soothed and de-stressed. A great pre-bed ritual.
If a bubble bath is more your thing (and who can blame you), Elemis Quiet Mind Bath Elixir is sheer luxury. The beautiful scent of relaxing lavender combined with other sleep aiding essential oils such as chamomile really do help to unwind and take your mind off whatever is troubling you. Combined with the warm bath water you may find yourself struggling to get dressed and climb into bed afterwards - it is that good. Just be sure to set an alarm so you don't sleep through the following days plans! For a quick fix Elemis also offer Elemis Quiet Mind Temple Balm which is a cooling gel scented with the same aroma - I tend to keep it on my bedside table and dab onto both my temples and wrists, if I am struggling to unwind. It is also great for travel - long haul flights are less than enjoyable and I find this will somewhat help me to relax and forget about the person behind me constantly kicking my chair!
As you will know this is my sister's blog and you don't need me to tell you that nobody quite enjoys a scented candle or two quite like her. I tend to favour wax tarts as I find they offer a quicker scent release not to mention are often more affordable. If you are in the market for a scent to unwind with, be it due to stress or simply just to curl up on the sofa in the evenings - I recommend Busy Bee's Restful Sleep Wax Tart. It isn't your average sleepy blend, by that I mean there is no typical lavender note present - rather a dreamy blend of floral notes such as jasmine, rose, lily of the valley mingle to help you to de-stress. At just over £1 this is one you can't afford to miss out on.
My last recommendation comes in the form of a pillow mist, not everyone has time to wash their woes away in a warm bath, nor can everyone burn home scents for whatever reason but we can all scent our bedding. I can not recommend Avon Planet Spa Sleep Serenity Mist enough. Nothing and I mean nothing else can compare to this when it comes to helping me nod off. A quick spray on my pillows and bed linen, half an hour before I pop into bed and I am fighting the urge not to snuggle in and drift off. Just writing about it now makes me some what ready for a disco nap.
Good luck to all my fellow students sitting exams, the sleepless nights will hopefully pay off for us all.
This is my first year since I was about 10 that exams aren't featuring in. I'm sure I will still be indulging in all of this luxury though!

A pillow mist is something I have wanted to pick up for a long time, as I don't usually feel 100% relaxed when my head hits my pillow. x

I heard on the radio that more and more teens are becoming increasingly stressed. I think it’s such a shame. I really struggled with stress as a teen and in all honesty still struggle now. Lovely post. Wish I had read this when I was younger!
