Neutrogena Facial Washes

Today I am handing over the morning post slot to my younger sister, to talk about Neutrogena face washes - something most of us have used at some point or other. Now that I am in my twenties it has been a while since I last reached for an old school face wash but my sister is here to remind me and you why they aren't so bad after all...

Foaming cleansers often get a bad rap within the beauty world as some contain cleansing agents similar to that of a dish soap, resulting in the skin becoming stripped of its natural oils, dryness, irritation and blemishes. As much as I'd love to use gel cleansers and oils, the majority simply don't sit well on my skin and more often than not result in breakouts. After much trial and error I have learned that my skin is at its best when I use a Neutrogena Facial Wash - they are gentle, affordable, help to remove not only my make-up but also removes the day's dirt, sebum and pollution. No the ingredients aren't the most sophisticated (or clearly marked) but I have yet to find a cleanser of this type that works as well for me. As far as foaming cleansers go these barely produce suds and as a result are gentle. I am a regular user of all three variations; as someone with overly oily skin I find all three agree with my skin type but I would avoid if you are prone to dry or dehydrated skin. Then again that tends to be the advice true of all foaming cleansers. As a quick side note I do not use these to remove eye make-up at all.

Neutrogena Facial Washes

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore & Shine Daily Wash (£4.49 via Boots) has been formulated to help unclog pores, cleanse and mattify the skin. Sadly I can't say that my pores look all that clearer but I've yet to find that one wonder product that does just that. However it more than lives up the skin mattifying claim all the while without drying out the skin or leaving it feeling tight or uncomfortable. If you struggle with oil control and don't want to cake your face in powder or primer for that matter, I do recommend giving Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore & Shine Daily Wash a go - at under just £5 you can't beat it. This is the face wash I tend to use in balmier conditions such as the summer and whenever I am in more exotic locations other than Glasgow.I really hope Neutrogena expand this line and create a matching moisturiser it would be highly appreciated by all oily skin sufferers.

Neutrogena Facial Washes

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Wash (£4.89 via Superdrug) this particular face wash is intended for blemish prone skin types, personally I wouldn't recommend it for sensitised or acne prone skin types due to the strong fragrance. Much like the above facial wash it gently cleanses the skin effectively without being overly drying. Typically speaking this is my daily, go to facial wash as although I don't feel it does much in clearing blemishes, (very few if any cleansers do in my opinion) it does a stellar job of removing even the heaviest of make-up with next to no effort.

Neutrogena Facial Washes

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Facial Wash (£4.49 via Superdrug) as I mentioned above other than listing the likes of Grapefruit extract etc Neutrogena aren't all that clear with why they have selected certain ingredients - Neutrogena Visibly Clear Facial Wash is the exception. This contains 2% salicylic acid which can help to refine the complexion's texture. It gently removes any trapped dirt, make-up and/or toxins trapped within the pores, leaving your skin feeling softer and looking clearer from the first use. Such ingredient can and will target any existing blemishes, encouraging them to heal a little quicker than the would naturally. It goes without saying that this is my choice when my skin is acting up and I have more blemishes than usual. I find that within a few days of use my skin is well on the way to recovery and it allows me to skip targeted blemish products which I often find to be irritating.

Neutrogena as a brand and/or facial washes may not be of interest but hopefully you have enjoyed a different perspective on things. Look out for Teen Corner returning next week and do let us know below if you have any feature requests, teen or not.
