New Zoeva Bamboo Vol.2 Brush Set

It is no secret that I, like many happen to be a huge fan of Zoeva brushes - they are affordable, so well made, expansive in range as well as being rather easy on the eye. What is not to like? Launching on the 30th of March is the new Zoeva Bamboo Vol.2 Brush Set. A luxe set of eight completely vegan brushes which have been made using three renewable materials: vegan taklon hair, bamboo wooden handles and golden aluminium ferrules. As well as the eight brushes the kit comes with a large brown clutch bag to store the brushes should you wish and a beautiful cardboard brush box.

The eight brushes within the Zoeva Bamboo Vol.2 Brush Set are:

Zoeva 103 Defined Buffer - a large, dense angled kabuki style brush that is ideal for buffing foundation into the skin for an utterly flawless, almost airbrush-esque finish. It is also great for applying cream products such as blush and cream contours.

Zoeva 105 Highlight - a slightly tapered, fluffy medium sized brush that has been created to gently dust on highlight products. It creates a gentle, diffused finish even with the most pigmented highlighter.

Zoeva 109 Face Paint - easily one of my favourite brushes ever: a sharp, blunt square edged brush that could perhaps be a dupe for NARS ITA Kabuki Brush. I don't personally own the NARS version and doubt I will bother now as the Zoeva version is more than satisfactory. The squared edge makes contouring a cake walk, simply use to apply your sculpting product of choice (cream, liquid or powder - this brush does it all) in a broad sweep into the hollows and then buff out using the same brush. The density of this brush makes light work of buffing out even the harshest of lines. Every contouring fan should own one.

Zoeva 128 Cream Cheek - a large, angled firm, dense yet soft brush that has been created to apply and blend out cream cheek products. As it is so dense it doesn't pick up surplus product meaning even those with a heavy hand like myself can apply cream blush without fear of looking a little too flushed or in my case clown like ha! If you struggle with cream cheek products this is the brush for you.

Zoeva 142 Concealer Buffer - a beautifully soft yet robust flat top brush that naturally fits into the eyes contours to blend out concealer or loose powder with ease. Think of this as a mini kabuki brush for the eyes and your secret weapon in beautifully blending out even the heaviest of concealers.

Zoeva 227 Soft Definer - a uper soft fluffy brush that makes light work of buffing out even the harshest of lines. If you are a little heavy handed like myself and tend to over apply eyeshadow this is the brush you need, I find it helps to soften my eye make-up without turning into a muddy mess. It is also really gentle so it won't damage the delicate skin over time.

Zoeva 232 Classic Shader - a large, flat, paddle shaped brush that is soft yet picks up plenty of product. Best used to pack colour on to the eyelids or for base products i.e primer.

Zoeva 317 Wing Liner - a broad, angled eyeliner brush which has been specifically created to make light work of creating a winged eyeliner look. I suck at cat eye liner full stop so I have been using this with brow gels and have to say it is nothing short of wonderful. This is a fairly fine, dense and to a degree firm brush that may be a little harsh on the eye if heavy handed yet one of the best brow brushes out there in my humble opinion.

As you can see the brushes do appear to be duo fibre due to the design, I would like to point out that this is not the case merely aesthetic. All the brushes are soft and if past experience with the taklon hair bristles is anything to go by they will wash well and remain their original shape.

The Zoeva Bamboo Vol.2 Brush Set will launch via Zovea on the 30th of March and cost £55 - link.
