Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot

As someone with often oily skin I know the curse of foundation and powder products oxidising (the skins natural oils deepening the shade of products over the course of wear) on my skin only too well. I am all for glowy, radiant skin but draw the line at looking greasy and often rely on blotting powders rather than pressed powders to keep my t-zone shine free.

"The secret to perfect, shine-free skin is… Soap & Glory’s new SUPER-TRANSLUCENT MATTIFYING POWDER. It offers world-class shine control and oil-absorption, is ultra-light, and gives skin a traceless, smooth, velvety finish. One shade. For all skin types. Trust us. You want this!"

The difference between a traditional pressed powder and a blotting powder is that one often overs coverage and is tinted where as the other has been created to absorb oil and mattify the skin. Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot is of course the latter, think of it as the powder form of blotting sheets. This is not a setting powder, it has not been created to pro-long make-up wear or blur imperfections nor does it offer coverage; it simply soaks up excess oil without compromising the make-up underneath. A quick dab or sweep of this powder, to the problem areas and all traces of shine are gone, the soft, easy to apply texture makes it a breeze to apply and it is not prone to caking or clinging to dry patches. As it is a fairly finely milled powder you can apply this as many times as you need to throughout the day safe in the knowledge there will be no obvious signs of built up (i.e ashen skin) and it shouldn't show up on flash photography either. The one thing that sets Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot powder aside from traditional blotting powders is the slight yellow tinge of the powder, most tend to be stark white and a little trickier to blend out unless you have extremely fair skin. The yellow undertone doesn't translate onto the skin but can help to neutralise red tones to an extent which is an added bonus.

If you have oily skin be it all over or just your t-zone this is easily one of the best blotting powders I have tried, it absorbs excess oil with ease, feels light on the skin, does not cake and is really well priced.
