"This innovative eyeliner offers the precision of liquid liner and the ease of a gel-based formula. Long-wearing, water-resistant colour can be used to create subtle to dramatic looks. Apply with Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush. Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested."
Like most gel eye liners the packaging for the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liners is on the dinky side but then again this is true for most gel liners, as long as you have a small eye liner brush (as in the brush head) you won't experience any problems. The good thing about the size is that it is easily transported as well as stored. The jar itself is glass but fairly thick, I am the clumsy person around and have not experienced any issues i.e I've dropped it several times and it hasn't as much as chipped.
My go to gel liner was by Inglot but I much prefer the texture of this gel - it is soft and creamy yet not overly so, it is so easy to apply due to such texture but unlike the Inglot version it dries rather quickly on the skin. More importantly it doesn't flake or become crispy throughout the day. Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liners do not claim to be waterproof but I can say that you will need an oil based eye make-up remover to make it budge which in my experience is a sign of a liner that will withstand more than a few tears and the odd rain shower. As for the long wearing aspect, you couldn't ask for more with at least 10 hours of continuous wear with no fading, smudging or smearing even on oily lids.
No Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner is not the most affordable gel liner out there but like so many before me have stated it is one of the best.

I will be picking this up soon enough. I have been wanting a new eyeliner for a long time. But pens and liquid just aren’t cutting it. I want something that doesn’t budge.

I have exactly the same problem! Feel like whatever I try at the minute just keeps smudging...not a great look

Well this sounds pretty legit. I like the MAC one, I think it's really black and stays put for ages.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds amazing but I don't want it to not be waterproof and then smudge across as I have super oily eyelids (even eye primers don't help)!

I've been using this eyeliner since I was in my teenage years mastering the art of eyelining!
ReplyDeleteI do find that they dry out quite easily though which made me try other more inexpensive brands out there. L'oreal's gel eyeliner pot is really good ♥

Ah. I love Bobbi Brown but I always have the hardest time using gel liners. I really want to check this out though, great review!

This is actually the first 'proper' makeup product I ever owned, during my super heavy eyeliner phase (with no other makeup on, so attractive) I think my Mum got fed up with looking at my smudgy kohly face and so treated me to a little pot of this in Sepia Ink, which I had for years until it eventually ran out, and have since purchased other shades. I think I can blame my love of makeup purely on that little eyeliner, so safe to say it's a firm favourite! So glad you love it too!

I haven't tried this. I do like Loreal gel liner but probably need to invest, it gets so many good reviews x

I had this as a gift for my birthday and I was very impressed, I do find the Maybelline one comes in as being very close in quality.

I used to use this liner. It was actually my first ever foray into the realm of gel liners, I love how easily it glides on without any tugging. It did use to smudge/melt on me though, slightly colouring in the lines under my eyes and making me look tired lol.
ReplyDeleteGlad it's working well for you, it's such a nice dark black that really defines the lids x
I love gel eyeliners, and I think this one from Bobbi Brown is one of my all time favourites.

I love this eyeliner so much, it was probably one of the first makeup items I really splurged on but it was so worth it

me + gel or liquid liner = disaster
ReplyDeleteI'm so clumsy and heavy handed I could never work with anything like this, I'll always have to stick with Kohls unfortunately
