Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel

I have a bizarre obsession with my eye area and have done since a really young age. You see one of my eye lids somewhat droops due to an incident with my brother when we were children. As a result I not only have a fear of people/things coming to close to my eyes but also a desire to keep the area looking as young as possible. I realise that being in my twenties the ageing process has yet to happen but that doesn't stop me worrying. I will happily recommend several eye creams, gels and serums to all that will listen but sadly Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel isn't one of them.

"Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel is suitable for all skin types and really produces results! At last, there’s a product available which allows you to wake up to perfectly refreshed eyes, thanks to this incredibly soothing, anti-puffiness eye gel. Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel contains calming calendula and cucumber, which provides an instant revitalising effect to fatigued or irritated eyes. Watch fine lines disappear as the hydrating humectants plump up, firm and smooth the often neglected eye zone."

Now don't get me wrong Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel is a lovely, cooling gel that can help to diminish puffiness and to an extent hydrate but given the hefty £36 price tag I do feel your money would be better spent elsewhere. If a cooling and somewhat moisturising eye gel is all you need then may I recommend Boots Cucumber Eye Gel (£1.50) - it will do just that and won't break the bank. Sadly the Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel irritates my eye area so I couldn't properly put it to the test, I tried it out three of four times but the stinging eye area and watering eyes wasn't worth the hassle. I roped in my Mother who is perhaps at a better age to really test products of this nature and again she wasn't all that impressed, yes the gel gives the sensation of tightening the skin but there is no visible lifting signs nor does it smooth out fine lines or wrinkles as claimed. The hydration quality is minimal and there is no brightening qualities what so ever. Both myself and Mother are fans of the Ole Henriksen skin care franchise but this is not a product either of us would recommend.
